I am not a number! I am a free gift!
Well, here's me....
What do I do?...writer, musician, artist, designer...in other words I work to live, not live to work.
Worked as a freelancer in those areas for some years but now (due to the usual practical needs) have entered the employment market again and have a boss once more (boohoo!)). So I'm working for a book production company now and work on stuff for a few of the big names in publishing which is okay I guess (except I now have to get up at 6am to get to work on time (boohoo!!) again).
I'm from Scotland (gerritupya!), a singer/songwriter/musician and play and record with a few different other musicians; I love the great, wonderful outdoors - mountaineering, backpacking, trail-running, mountainbiking, fishing, photography etc and try to keep fit; running, weight-training, yoga, swimming, so that I can drink like a fish without feeling too guilty.
In keeping with Julie 'bad habit' Andrews, "these are a few of my favourite things":
blackbirds,
Bonny 'Prince' Billy/Will Oldham
forests,
my UCO Candle Lantern,
seeing the red corrugated steel roof of 'Allt Beith', in Glen Affric, in the distance after walking 48 miles in one day (once every week),
finishing setting up my Pro-Tools audio rig,
smiling dogs,
absolutely spiffing parties, darlinks,
Tangiers,
sweet roast peppers in olive oil,
walking barefoot in the grass,
watching squirells sunbathing,
pretty ladies,
Iris Dement's accent,
Lake Greeley - Pennsylvania,
teenage red deer,
turning off my mobile phone at night (hate the bloody things!)
...and meeting really nice folks like I've met here on H2G2.
