Hello, if you're visiting. I filled out this questionnaire to introduce myself, though I didn't give any of the questions more than a few seconds' thought, so I reserve the right to rethink them.

2. What is the quality you most like in a man? Doesn't take himself too seriously.
3. What is the quality you most like in a woman? An irreverent sense of humor.
4. What do you most value in your friends? A love of good food and drink.
5. What is your principal defect? Rigidity.
6. What is your favorite occupation? Losing myself in a book.
7. What is your dream of happiness? Having plenty of free time to pursue all the things I'm interested in.
8. What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes? Having no one to care about you.
9. What would you like to be? Relaxed.
10. In what country would you like to live? France.
11. What is your favorite color? Green.
12. What is your favorite flower? Roses.
13. What is your favorite bird? Owls.
14. Who are your favorite prose writers? Anne Tyler, Barbara Kingsolver, Reynolds Price.
15. Who are your favorite poets? Dylan Thomas, Lawrence Ferlinghetti.
16. Who is your favorite hero of fiction? Frodo Baggins.
17. Who is your favorite heroine of fiction? Scarlett O'Hara.

21. What is it you most dislike? Bigotry, pretentiousness, bragging, rudeness, snobbery.
22. What natural gift would you most like to possess? The ability to compose music.
23. How would you like to die? After a great meal at age 101.
24. What is your present state of mind? Cautiously optimistic.
25. To what faults do you feel most indulgent? Extravagance, impulsiveness.

You are wrong, my friend. Example: I gave a co-worker the name of my wonderful travel agent, and the co-worker has done nothing but complain to me ever since about the travel agent and how much extra money he is costing him.
My good deed has been punished.

As regards that saying, it's sort of cynical, but I do find myself saying it a lot.
Hope you had fun when you went out! I've been staying at home a lot myself. I'm finding that's what I need right now. Just sit with the kitty and listening to music.

2. What is the quality you most like in a man? A Sense of humour.
3. What is the quality you most like in a woman? A Sense of humour

5. What is your principal defect? Honesty, (some call it Bluntness).
6. What is your favourite occupation? Flying
7. What is your dream of happiness? Flying a helicopter in the countryside in autumn.
8. What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes? Death.
9. What would you like to be? Just me for One day.
10. In what country would you like to live? All of them, one at a time.

25. To what faults do you feel most indulgent? My wife and Kids as in "indulgent to a fault"

OK, I'll have a go....
1. What is your most marked characteristic? Honesty. As in brutal.
2. What is the quality you most like in a man? High alcohol tolerance. Being worse than me at pool.
3. What is the quality you most like in a woman? Confidence, self security, sense of humour. Blindness
4. What do you most value in your friends? Honesty, independence and individuality.
5. What is your principal defect? See point 1.
6. What is your favorite occupation? Listening to good music. Preferably live.
7. What is your dream of happiness? A cottage on a remote Scottish Island, except possibly without the weather.
8. What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes? Being without friends.
9. What would you like to be? Content.
10. In what country would you like to live? Switzerland's nice, as is Scandinavia. I'm optimistic about New Zealand (haven't been yet) but hey, Scotland's actually pretty OK. It's got to have mountains though - I can't live anywhere flat. I've had the chance to move to the Mid West and Holland. Funnily enough I turned both down.
11. What is your favorite color? Jade Green or Burnt Orange. Really rich colours.
12. What is your favorite flower? More of a foliage kind of guy. Not sure I can identify much other than a rose.
13. What is your favorite bird? Penguins.
14. Who are your favorite prose writers? Douglas Adams, Michael Moorcock, William Horwood
15. Who are your favorite poets? Steve Hogarth (lyricist with Marillion - he definately counts as a poet)
16. Who is your favorite hero of fiction? Calvin (as in '...and Hobbes')
17. Who is your favorite heroine of fiction? Rebecca (from William Horwood's Duncton Wood)
18. Who are your favorite composers? Proper composers - Gershwin, Sibelius, Stavinsky. Others - John Coltrane, Marillion, Joe Jackson
19. Who are your favorite painters? Turner, Seurat, Rodney Matthews
20. Who are your heroes in real life? Charles Shultz, Lao Tzu
21. What is it you most dislike? Bigotry, cowardliness, tardiness
22. What natural gift would you most like to possess? Paint better than I can now.
23. How would you like to die? When I've had enough
24. What is your present state of mind? Excited (off to Oktoberfest soon.....!!!)
25. To what faults do you feel most indulgent? Er.. I drink too much beer. Does that count?
26. What is your motto? Never really had a motto, but I guess I've always thought "They'll laugh at you anyway, so why don't you stand up and be" were words to live by - it's a quote from a Marillion song. Sad huh?
