I could have sworn I posted a reply to that last post. This is weird. Seriously, I remember typing a reply. Wonder where the heck I posted it? It won't make much sense if I put it in a different conversation.
You would have read it. It ws so moving and passionate that you wouldn't have been able to help yourself.
Thanks for the pressies.

It's funny. I could've sworn I'd click on this conversation eight times, but each time it took me to the tomato post
Oh well, if I'm not moved, I guess I'll just stay put.

There has been an excessive amount of webjello today. But normally that only makes it slow - not possessed.
Ok. No more tomato talk for today. But I can't promise anything for the future. No one really knows what tomorrow will bring.
What can we talk about that doesn't involve tomatoes......hum......
So, how is the trapeze act coming?

I am having a lot more trouble than usual. And it's completely irrational. One moment I'm in a forum, the next I'm timing out. Usually I have to get out of the site or step away from the computer for the servers to work their mysterious voodoo.
Though perhaps, server voodoo sounds pretty irrational on its own.
Trapeze act? Pah.

It was your choice to be a trapeze artist. No one forced you into it. And you have a net...a big bouncy net. That would be fun. Falling into the net and bouncing back up. WooHoo!

I'm having to click on everything at least twice for it to take the command.
I have a realtively new book about Marie Laveaux - or however you spell it. I'm too lazy to look it up. She would have been able to deal with a voodoo server.
But bouncing in a net would be fun. It has nothing to do with bravery.

And have you noticed how fouled up the timer is? You'll hit the post button, it will come right up, and then it will say you posted it 4 minutes ago. Then you go to another conversation and when you get back, the posting that said 4 minutes ago, now says 2 minutes ago.
I don't think the server has a voodoo curse. I think it's drunk.

No, the DNA and h2g2 servers have different timings, so ever since we started sharing servers, the timers have been inconsistent. And I don't think the techies have the time to synchronize them.

Well, it's weird.
Nearly time for me to go home. I have to come in and work on Sunday again to get reports done. It's really hard to work on the accounts or reports when we're open. Way too many interruptions.

'tis weird. It's been that way for too long.
Where's a quiet section of books you can get the reports done? What's the least popular section of the library?
Jodan for President
Hypatia Posted Aug 7, 2004
The 800s. Literature. A person could take a nap in that section pretty easily.
I've decided to work from home on most of it. That way I can eat popcorn while I work. I am more efficient when I have popcorn.

Literature, eh? Stands to reason.
As I've said before, I find popcorn distracting when you need to focus on something, like a movie. But whatever works for you, I guess.

Hypatia Posted Aug 7, 2004
I like popcorn. It makes me happy. It is not distracting. I can eat popcorn and focus on a movie just fine and dandy.
Speaking of....seen any good movies lately?
H

J Posted Aug 7, 2004
Any good ones? No.
And there doesn't appear to be much on the horizon.
Maybe I'm just paranoid of crunching down on an unpopped one, because I check what I'm about to stick in my mouth every time.

Hypatia Posted Aug 7, 2004
Well, there is that. A broken tooth increases the price of the movie. Do you know anyone who has actually broken a tooth on a popcorn kernal?

Hypatia Posted Aug 8, 2004
Most unpleasant. Fortunately that hasn't been a problem for me. Perhaps we serve fluffier, fresher popcorn here than in Ohio. That could be a great slogan.....Come to the Ozarks. We aren't fancy, but all of our kernels pop.

I don't believe that. One bit. Maybe your gravity is slightly stronger, pulling the unpopped kernels to the bottom.
'Ozarkians, Come to Ohio... you'll weigh less!'
