Perhaps you know?
Why do some people not get a visit from an ace, check \ \ \ newusers
even if they don edit a personal space entry, they could be traced and helped in.
I found lots of these \ \ \ test.. info.. is there a collection?
Is there one for entry's as list on info?
Are these questions for a Guru?
Why have some ACEs such "friendly" welcome on their personal space?
(taking half an hour to load images staring at DO I OWE YOU MONEY)
Lately I found a post of newuser, barked off by the writer of the article, such does not feel nice. Am I allowed to "guide them in" or should I call for an ACE?
What is te "task" ACEs anyway? Just give some links to the pages you have already passed at registrating or help them become researchers/ users of the guide? (Mine has just dropped his standard note and seems not intrested in conversation)

"Why do some people not get a visit from an ace"
I think some people don't get a visit from an ACE quite simply because there haven't been enough ACE's around at the time they joined to cover them as well as all the others. Though as I understand it a lot of people are now introduced at the <./>askh2g2</.> page.
"I found lots of these \ \ \ test.. info.. is there a collection?"
If you mean you've found a collection of un-ACEd users, then yes there is a list of those who should be ACEd here - <./>NewUsers?TimeUnits=1&UnitType=week&Filter=noposting</.>.
"Why have some ACEs such "friendly" welcome on their personal space?
(taking half an hour to load images staring at DO I OWE YOU MONEY)"
I'm not quite sure what you mean here, but if you mean why are some ACEs freindlier than others, I can only say that some ACE's have a lot more time than other ACE's - and use that time to be more friendly to new comers.
If you mean why do people put so much on their pages that it takes an eternity to load up, is because they don't realise how long it takes for someone with a slow connection to access the page.
"Am I allowed to "guide them in" or should I call for an ACE?"
You are very much allowed to "guide them in". You don't need the badge to help people out. The badge simply shows that you are capable of doing it, as said by the Itallics. Though if you don't feel comfortable dealing with the situation then feel free to ask an ACE to help you out.
"What is te "task" ACEs anyway? Just give some links to the pages you have already passed at registrating or help them become researchers/ users of the guide? (Mine has just dropped his standard note and seems not intrested in conversation)"
Well ACE's are basically "taught" by the itallics to give as much information as possible, without "overloading" them with too much, and give them links to different places. Ideally an ACE is there to help a person develop as much as possible an become researchers/users of the guide.
I actually know your ACE Jodan, and unfortunately you have caught him at a very busy period. He is very much involved in a new project on h2g2 called the UnderGuide, which is basically to help promote fiction on h2g2, which has taken up a lot of his time.
But still that doesn't mean that every person who is ACE'd doesn't deserve good attention. If you need any help though don't be afraid to ask me, or go to Jodan's personal space and leave him a message. Any ACE you ask should be able to help you out with most basic problems you have.
And although I've not got a Guru badge, I do know a fair amount about the technical side of things - so feel free to ask me about that as well, and I'll help you out if I can.
The only difference between me and a Guru, is that a Guru has all the top secret knowledge that they're not allowed to tell the rest of the community. I don't have that.
But anyway, I hope I've answered your questions, and if I haven't please tell me and explain.
Kind Regards,
Verc - <>
