I've been looking everywere for you...
Hmmm, hello Terran.
I am the Comunity Artist Charged with taking care of your new articals graphic. I've got a vague idea of what you want, if you could give me more information tho'.
Oh and er... The title, it wouldn't have anything to do with Tenacious D would it?

Hi DoctorMO,
I'm not quite sure what information you want to know, other than what I've already told Shazz. Basically my idea is to have an image of an open hard-back book (with a brown cover), open half way through the pages with light coming out of the middle with 168 at the top in a kind of ghostly holographic way, with a small image of a man (the main character Terry Horowitz) falling in to the source of the light. I had thought also that you could have two cloaked men (not unlike the hooded creatures from the Lord of the Rings) either side of the book with their hoods covering most of their faces (maybe the one on the right you could just about see him smirking under his hood).
Now I don't know what is actually possible and not possible graphically, so if something is not possible then don't be afraid to tell me.
And yes I did get the "tribute" bit idea from Tenacious D. But the similarity stops there.
Anyway, thanks

It would help if I knew what Terry Horowitz looked like, (or at least the kinds of clothes)
Most of what you ask is posible. it will give me great practice in my human drawing.

Well Terry is 34 still with all of his hair (which is dark). He is white caucasian, probably about 5'10, or something like that (I don't know if thats at all relevant I just thought I'd throw it in), of medium build. He wears a pair of blue jeans, and has a red T-Shirt (a round neck kind of one, not a buttoned up one). He would probably also have a wrist watch, although I haven't mentioned it in the story (this would of course be digital ).
Erm, I think thats about it, unless you want to know more about his face(if that level of detail is neccesary), in which case I would suggest that he has blue eyes, no glasses, a normal nose/mouth/chin. Erm I'm not sure about his hair style, but it would definately be shortish.
Tell me if you need anything else

I've done a draft... I've used a high contrast sila' for him, but at this point we got plenty of time if you keep in regular contact.

That link doesn't work for me. Perhaps Tripod won't allow direct access to gifs on their servers unless called by a local htm file.

I'm on now... You've done a great job on it Is there any way to add any more detail to the falling man? And just a thought, if its possible, would you be able to do a reverse of the hooded man on the right to go in place of the one on the left?
I hope I'm not being a pain with these suggestions on what is great picture in its own right.

Amy : I had the same problem at first, but what I did was rather than click the link I copied it and placed it in to the address bar, and it worked for some reason then.

Thanks Terran, I'd already tried that but it still redirects me to an admin page. I'll try a different browser.

Right, any particular reason for the hooded figure swap? only I'd like to keep a sense of diferance in the picture.
the man will be changed, the book will be upadted as amy has sujested and cleanup will be done...

I was thinking about the hooded figure swap, because I felt that the one on the left revealed too much of his face. If not swap the figure on the left perhaps, cover his face a bit more with the hood.
Though I do understand what you are saying about keeping the differences in the picture.

Mmm... I'm probably being a perfectionist. I'll leave it with you.
I'll just be chuffed to have a picture to go with the story to be honest

Thanks DoctorMO, that looks great
Just a thought, and this is just out of curiousity, do you think it would look any better if there was less space between the 168 and the top?
If you don't think it would, leave it as it is, because you've done a great job on it

DoctorMO (Keeper of the Computer, Guru, Community Artist) Posted Feb 10, 2003
Not to sure, on consideration, I'd say the nearer the 168 to the middle the better, mearly for balance, because it's the only text content of the picture.

Yes, on second thoughts I think your right. Great
So is it all done now? Do we just need to wait for the post?
