I'm told that Caves of Steel is in the early stages of planning as a movie. It's believable in the wake of Minority Report. I haven't read it in a while, but I quite fancy Harrison Ford as Lije Bailey, playing his age for once.

That would be interesting, assuming that they don't mess it up in the proccess of trying to make it into a screenplay.

judging by the way they've messed up every asimov story they've made into a movie so far (i *hated* the bicentennial man. somehow, it never struck me that andrew martin's life story ought to be *comical*), i am somewhat apprehensive about that 'caves of steel'-into-movie thingy. the problem is that i don't think *anybody* can translate asimov's vision into television/movie... it's just the wrong media for it, somehow. perhaps one day, a hundred years from now, somebody will manage to do what the director for 'gold' did, but somehow i think that this is the wrong time for things...
(if they make the *foundation* series into movies and botch it up - which i'm sure they will - i will shoot myself)
