This is the last time in my twenties I will ...
That's a phrase I have been using a lot at the moment, my last haircut of my twenties, my last Friday night of my twenties ...
I think the first time people heard that they thought it was amusing, the tenth time less so, and now, well truth to tell - I've not seen anyone for a while. I'm joking of couse they can't get away that easily (she says with a somewhat manical laugh)
So, on the cusp of turning 30 I really can't decide if I'm stressed about it or not. On the whole I think not, although I feel I should.
Back when I was a teenager (oh, all those years ago) I made a list of all the things I wanted to do before I hit 30. As I teeter on the precipice of my thirties, I ask mysef just how many of those have I achieved? Well, truth to be told, not a lot of them.
However, this is not the end of the world. I could still choose to ride a motorbike (a Harley Davisdon naturally) across America if I so desired. And even if I didn't get round to making my own version of Easy Rider (although hopefully with the dying bit at the end) until I'm in my 80s, that doesn't make it an any the less valid experience.
What I have achieved is more important than all the weird and wacky things you could put on a list. I have found a self confidence and belief in myself that I would never have though possible whilst in the middle of that teenage angst
This won't of course stop me making a new list After all, what's life without lists to ignore?
So, (chews end of pen thoughtfully) things I want to do before I am 40 ...
All suggestions for said list gratefully received.
