... transformez-nous en dieux silencieux

Have you ever heard of the madman who on a bright morning lighted a lantern and ran to the market-place calling out unceasingly: "I seek God! I seek God!"...It is further stated that the madman made his way into different churches on the same day, and there intoned his Requiem aeternam deo. When led out and called to account, he always gave the reply: "What are these churches now, if they are not the tombs and monuments of God?"

Just a brief introduction...

Howdy. How did you find this page? Uhmm oh well.

..followed by a somewhat larger one.

Howdy again. My names Bob and this is uhmm some text which will ultimately fashion words in order to desribe me. In a sense. I'm made up of bones and hair and lots of other awful sounding materials which I'm sure will be of no interest to you or indeed anyone. Except me. You see. Ahem.

Synopsis of Self?

My God, how bad does this page look? Anyway..

I've told you my name is Bob. So I won't tell you again. Even though I have. Uhmm, while not telling you. My head hurts, I need a lie down. Okey dokey. I'm not short or tall. I'm tall enough to buy cigarettes and not smoke them and short enough to get child's tickets on trains and buses. I have long brown hair with bits of blond in which makes me look like I've fallen in bleach. Which I might have done. I play guitar and piano and am trying to patent my very own 'guiano', which is like a kazoo, only bigger. I do write songs and will one day bring out some sort of rough recording of them. But until that day, I shall just read and watch films.

Well, Maybe I'll add more one day. Toodle pip

Fobbies and Havourites

Musique..?

Nick Drake.

Well uhhh....Music is by biggest Fobbbie. J'adore -

Muse; Nine Inch Nails; Jeff Buckley; The Jimi Hendrix Experience/The Band of Gypsys; The Cooper Temple Clause; Pixies; Beck; The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion; Sonic Youth; Primus; The Doors...

My absolute favourite song of all time is: 'Machine Gun' by Jimi Hendrix. This song was played live on the turn of New Years Eve 1969, and just involved Jimi standing still, playing his guitar for around twelve minutes. The biggest part of the song is the wholly improvised solo, which just blows the mind of anyone who's ever held a guitar. The song is anti-war too, for me, its perfect.

I like quite a lot actually. But I do not like...

Daniel Bedingfield; Sugacoma....Hold on, I can't be bothered with the impending fate of typing a lot, so i'll just sum up what I don't like.

Pop tripe that has absolutely no substance or meaning; Nu-metal (ditto); 'Nu-grunge'; Rap and anything to do with big fat homie sexist people; and uhmmm....80's synth pop which is equal to today's pop music, except it made synths sound like ill trumpets and bored harpsichords.

My absolute least favourite song of all time is: 'Crazy' by Britney Spear's horny songwriters, and covered by Sugacoma. Quite frankly, and honestly, the worst song I have ever heard. There's nothing good about the melody, the riff, the apparent irony of covering a 'pop-princesses' song if you're in a 'metal' band, the video, the band, the screaming...I could go on. And you're lucky that I don't.

Buks..?

William Shakespeare suffering from writer's block

I like reading books sometimes. Especially these ones..

A Clockwork Orange; anything by Nietzsche (except Thus Spoke Zarathustra); SunBoiledOnions; The Interpretation of Dreams; Anything to do with Dreams, Grits, the subconcious or psychoanalysis; A brief history of time; The Exorcist; Lucifer; Anything Garfieldy or Citizen Dog; some music biographies...

In fact, I like reading lots, but I've forgotten most of the books I've read.

My Favourite Book is:'The Gay Science' by Friedrich Nietzsche. Its really good, because its almost like an encyclopedia of Nietzches philosophies. It's got poems, short paragraphs on topics like Christian Establishments and Society if you're just thumbing through for something to read, or huge essays about topics Nietzsche thought a lot about. It also contains the word 'Schadenfreude'1, so I think its great.

Uhm, there's not a lot of books I know that I hate. Probably because If I don't like a book, I'll just not read it. Makes sense I think. I take a dislike in Kerrang! Magazine though.

Fillums..?

A sleepy chameleon on a clock

I like watching films too. A lot. Well, sometimes. More than reading, but less than listening to music. These are the best, I assure you..

Fight Club, Trainspotting, Amélie, The Lion King, A Clockwork Orange, Les Enfants Terribles, Trois Coleurs: Bleus, The Exorcist, Hullabaloo - Muse Live at 'Le Zenith', The Blair Witch Project, The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, Being John Malkovich, The Crow, Kung Pow! Enter the Fist; Interview with the Vampire, Terminator 2: Judgement Day...

I like a lot more that that, but those are my havourites.

I simply do not like watching -

'Chick Flicks'; Something thats just action filled with no story; Half-Baked original ideas that would have worked well, but the director couldn't be bothered; Something completely unorignial; sequels of sequels of sequels of sequels of sequels of prequels; Long 'epics' that need to be cut by about 4 hours; Long Time Dead.

Hmm, I seem to hate quite a few. Poor angst-ridden me.
1You don't know what it means? I hope you do. 22It's a word famous for being instranslatable - It means 'Taking Joy in other people's misery'. I know this from watching 'The Simpsons'. And reading lots of books, of course.
