Hello disorganised one - where are you? I am missing you at SHADOW are you on one of your trips? It's been about 3 weeks or maybe even four.
Just asking

Hi UG - This was a family holiday - 3 days in EuroDisney followed by two weeks in Menorca, link that with travelling, packing, unpacking, washing, re-packing, and sneaking in 1 quick shift at work because the rules say I can't have 3 consecutive weeks off without permission - which would be refused because we're short-staffed, and you get me offsite from the 4th until now.
Good to be back, and nice to know I was missed.

Hallo, Disorganised One. I guess by the "eyes" that you're on-line, so just thought I'd drop in.
Feeling a bit sore tonight, after laying concrete most of the afternoon, in the base of my greenhouse, in an attempt to stop the rain seeping in under the aluminium base. I'm not too good at wearing protective clothing either, so my hands are gradually dropping off (well most of the skin has flaked away and I look a bit sore ) and I've got a raring sore throat too.
All your holidays over now? I've got a week in November and three days at the beginning of December to come, but they will, no doubt, be taken up with Christmas shopping.
My friend's niece put the fear of God up everyone the other day by commenting that all those who are monthly paid only have four more pay packets before Christmas. Fortunately, I am weekly paid, so it is not quite so painful for me.
Decorator comes in next week to finally eradicate all traces of the re-wire . Have been busying myself in the garden in the meantime to try and get rid of the rubbish that seems to accumulate unbidden. It's frog-heaven out there - hundreds of the things, I have to stamp about a bit before approaching the messy end so that they hop off and I don't tread on them.
Hope all is well in your world

Nobody knows how long the nights are except shift workers eh ?
Concreting is one of those things that seems so easy - until you start, then its mixing quanties large enough to make it worthwhile, but not too big it starts to go off before you've got it all sorted.
I'm having someone round today to tell me how much its going to cost for a new boiler......... looks like I'll be working more often soon.
See you soon.....

Oh - the eyes -yeah I usually log on somewhere near the start of my shift, then when I've got free time I just maximise the window, some nights I never get on much.
So I'm usually here - but not all here.
Where are you?
Universal Granny Posted Sep 4, 2003
That sounds familiar - "usually here, but not all here", I think my daughters level that one at me at least once a week!
New boiler - uurgh! Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, seen the video and yes you will be working a lot more soon! I am only 3 and a half years off retirement, and my pension is not going to go too far, I'm afraid, so I am getting all that sort of thing done (hence re-wire, garden, new boiler, loft insulation) whilst I am able to earn overtime and pay for it. If it's not done by February 2007 - it ain't gonna get done!
I had to hold off the loft insulation until the re-wire was done, but I don't think I will be able to get it done in time for the winter, what with Christmas an'all to pay for. The insulation that is up there at the moment is 31 years old, and has been subject to the attention of several squirrels who ousted quite a lot of it into the sideway. I have since had the hole in the soffit board mended, but the insulation needs attention now - not to mention the horrendous amount of junk that passes as "memorabelia" (?spelling) already residing in the loft. A whole new ball game, I think, and definitely a project for next year.

I'll pass on the skateboard, but I DID go to a David Essex concert tonight - and that's the first concert I have been to in over 30 years! Do you think I am regressing?
You're right though, oh disorganised one, putting it all together like that perhaps I am embarking on a whole new life - do you think I should get the mini skirt out of mothballs, or is that going a bit too far?
Take care UG

McKay The Disorganised Posted Sep 29, 2003
Might be a bit soon for the mini-skirt.
Have you still got those thigh high boots ?

Yes, disorganised one, but only the one pair! But after today I think I will go back to the zimmer for a while and limit my concerts to a quick tune-in to Classic Radio.

Never mind UG.
If you hadn't gone there would have been a lot of other questions buzzing around.
From the way you described him he seems rather self-centred, and totally charmless.

Hello oh Disorganised One
I had to go through three pages to find this conversation - didn't realise it had slipped down so much and that I hadn't spoken to you for so long. How's life with you? You been busy?
How's the family and the menagerie? All well, I hope. Nothing too new on my territory. "Christopher Biggins" clone seems to have vanished without trace , the house is coming together nicely, and I've nearly finished the garden.
Work is picking up pending Christmas, other than that, nothing much to report really.
Have some and a

Hi UG - I was wondering where you were last night - I 'm very busy at work and getting less online time at the moment - the dreaded w#rk keeps cropping up.
I've had me flu jab, but then went down with a sore throat - no escaping these bugs at this time of year.
The family are all just great thanks, half term at the moment so we're all seeing each other more.
Mrs Disorganised has got me laying a new floor in the conservatory, which to be fair is going better than I thought it would.
How about your brood, are they having you for christmas ? The Out-laws are spending Christmas with us again this year (translation: their precious son has yet again told them his wife's mother is comming to his place so they decide they will grace their daughter with a visit.) Still it should make a good christmas - 10 us locked up together - (I love it really)
We're going to buy a after bonfire night - my wife takes it as a personal insult if anyone gets a tree up before her.

"Are they having you for Christmas?"
Well I was hoping they would have turkey - I'm a bit of a tough old bird really!!
I don't know where I will be at Christmas. I always remain very fluid in these matters. One daughter alternates her Christmases between her family and her husband's, and the other daughter's husband's family(!) are all medics of some sort and on call or on shift work, so they have their Christmas on whatever day they can all be together.
Sometimes this means that both daughters are otherwise engaged on Christmas day. If that is the case then I may be on my own, or I may get an invitation from a friend and her family, if they realise I am on my own - but I am not one for inviting myself, so it depends if they find out! If I do spend Christmas on my own, I don't brood about it. In fact, I will do a little neighbourhood visiting during the afternoon, to try and lift family parties that have flagged in that awful in-between period after lunch and before tea. I have made some hilarious - and very short - visits around my road and it has always been appreciated. I don't believe in outstaying my welcome, so they don't mind letting me in!!!
Whoever feeds me gets my S***sbury's points towards my keep!
Have to go, another despatch just come in. If I can get back tonight I will, if not I will post you a "Light Wars" story tomorrow.
Take care UG

Hello, Disorganised one!
It was not long after the last post (above) that I was laid out with something they have still to diagnose.
I know you think I have had the 'flu, and I have not had the energy to tell you otherwise, but it has been a bit worse than that. A feeling of total numbness, tiredness, unable to sleep but unable to stay awake either, no appetite, no "get up and go", confusion, lack of concentration, and I have been off work for about 6 weeks now.
I find it an effort to come on line with my old computer here because it is so s-l-o-w, and I cannot stay upright for that long, so I tend to only post once and then shut down.
I have been asleep most of today, got up at about 9 o'clock, went back to bed about 10 o'clock, and now I am up again, but already I am feeling tired. They are bandying such phrases as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, and Fibromyalgia, and Depression around but no one is coming to any conclusion and so nothing is being treated.
As you may have seen from my "And in the red corner...." thread that I am determined to get some results soon in this new year, because I am fed up with being this down and, (ugh! I hate the word), dependent.
Beginning to fade again now so will wish you and your family a Very Happy New Year. Hope you had a good Christmas, and hope we will talk more in the near future.
Take care UG
