my mate got a trojan virus 
it looks like its "killed" his scanner ive re-installed all the software but its still not working i think a dll file is missing 
i wonder if one of the italics might help

Darn viruses... I have been plagued by a few myself... I think what saved my PC is that I'm still using Windows 95 as the new viruses are more targetting Windows 98 and newer versions...
I seem to remember a convo with that problem... will see if I can dig it out...
You could ask the Advice Corner A1027171 ... just in case...
It's not very busy now, as you might have guessed, but there are still some people subscribed to the page...
I might be able to find a few other links that might help as well... Microsoft's website might be able to let him download the dll he needs.... Plus they have some messageboards there as well where people give advice etc...
Worth a try...
