h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm hoping you can help, my friend e-mailsed the complaints section at Telewest asking why his link was not working for h2g2 and I will quote the reply he got..

"The h2g2 link via the set top boxes is what I think you are referring to? It was altered to a different link, you will need a new one off one of the many set top users that have access to it"

It would appear from that, that Telewest are not stopping the use of h2g2 through set top boxes but have merely changed something. I know I am asking a lot but could you please find out what this could be, I would gladly do it but I don't know the correct jargon to use. Or even if you set me on the right track I will do all that I can to help, as it does appear that links are available.

Hello Jonathan, well i've had better days on here, my friends can't access, Artisan who set up 'Anangramits' can no longer play in the game that took hours of work to set up, that little baby is left for me to look after now and Rebs has gone too.. I don't know as yet if Venus will be on/is on.. I have been so busy e-mailing people who don't understand what has happened...

Alleycat: I think that the baboon mailed [email protected] and I don't think that's an official blueyonder email address, just another user.

I think the reason why STB's can no longer navigate is because /dna may have been added to the firewall, dunno what you can do about that though.

Kow, thanks for that, it's a pity I had hoped that something could be done about it... unfortunately I e-mailed them at the same addy but I will find out the correct one and re-send. Thanks for your help

Kow the e-mail didn't work, but thanks for trying anyway... I phoned Telewest up and after an hour and a half on the phone to them they have informed me that it was definately interfering with their services and they confirmed that the loophole was indeed blocked for that reason. I did get an address to write to air my views on the matter.

If anyone has any ideas on what I can do next i'd be grateful, I know i'm out of my depth here but I just want to help, it's not that long ago that I was a digibox user myself and I would be devasted at this moment if access to h2g2 was denied to me, I tend to live here when i'm not at work.

I couldn't bring myself to post this in the main thread and have AKA sneering about what a good boy he was.

it appears to be where La Resistance is holding out now.

Some interesting developments since I last posted. I'm using the digibox to post this, there are a few glitches but it's usable.

BTW - Alleycat where were you told to air your views?
