Lil
However, I have to put one thing straight - in all these years I've never actually attended a proper, bono fido, as advertised, official h2g2 meet.

How long does one have to live in Texas to be considered a Texan? I was there 20 years and was still considered a Yankee! Me, born and raised in the Ozarks a Yankee! It was soooooo wrong.

Down here on the Gulf we consider anyone North of I-10 to be a Yankee.

There is quite a lot of Texas north of I-10. My coonass neighbor even considered you a southerner as long as you were south of Dallas.

Hypatia Posted May 31, 2014
Well, it's bad enough being a hillbilly. I refuse to be a Yankee besides.

Here in Manchester, anyone in Altrincham wants to live in Cheshire.
Which is why, even though it's part of Greater Manchester they put Cheshire on their postal address.

As difficult as it is to fathom, Little DooDah is actually one of the more popular places to live in this area. Partly, probably mostly, because our schools have such a good reputation and our football team has won the state championship 10 times. It certainly isn't because we attract the rich and famous. But it is a pleasant enough place, in spite of the higher than average percentage of low-income residents. Our population has increased by nearly 3,000 in the last 15 years.

Welcome back! At last you have a retirement countdown, those days will fly by! I'm counting mine in how many paydays to go at the moment, which won't be more than 75. If I can afford it a year earlier then 63 paydays left.
Who votes for a Little DooDah meet?

Waves to Coely. I am working longer than I wanted, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Jack, nothing involving spiders is enjoyable.
A Little DooDah meet would probably bore the pants off of everyone, but I would love it. We do have an airport. Not a good one, mind you, but it's possible. You can make connections to here from DFW.

Sadly, I will be unable to attend a meet, but I'll depend on your eloquent accounts of events. I still prize your story of the picnic when the purple smoke bomb rolled under your mother's chair.

"Nothing involving spiders is enjoyable"?!
Look at this cute little dancing fool!
Waving his feet in the air,
Waggling his clown faced butt like he just don't care!
