h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

If a person isn't smart enough to understand that the library board meets the third Monday of every month, then they shouldn't be allowed to serve. I have one board member who was appointed two years ago and still hasn't figured out when the board meets. It isn't rocket science. Same Monday every month. Same time of day. Same room. How can I trust him to make good decisions when he isn't bright enough to figure out something as simple as a meeting time? Grrrrrrr.

Does he not know, or does he just forget? I forget nearly *every* appointment, even those I've made myself.

Can you not email or ring him a day or so before the meeting?

Or are his contributions not even worth it?

I have nine board members. I send each one a packet before every meeting that contains financial reports, the minutes of the previous meeting and the agenda for the upcoming one. I have no intention of calling them all besides. One time this guy told me he never opens his mail. Well, tough. He surely knows how to write down a meeting time on a calendar. It's always the same Monday. He could make a note of it for the entire year in a couple of minutes.

And Mags, he isn't worth the effort. Most of the board is relieved when he doesn't come. I just wish they'd ask the mayor to remove him and replace him with someone else.

Perhaps a mention in the minutes will help?
