I'm looking forward to your visit in May too. Due to my change of job I hope to have more time than on your previous visits, but I have a happy memory of fish and chips in my garden.
I'll post you some leaflets too! Probably much the same ones as AlsoRan's but there is a tourist information place nearby so I'll collect a few bits next time I pass.

Thanks coely. That was a lovely day, indeed. Great Dixter was gorgeous. And spending time with friends is always very special. I still want to do more of the London Walks.
Hey Lil. I trust things are going well with you.

Hypatia,
You and Synesius will be in StL during the week. I cannot make that, with work and after-duty commitments. Perhaps another weekend along the way, and we'll manage a meeting...

Christiane, I'm looking forward to meting you, as well.
Bummer, B4. Understandable, however. We're going during the week because that's when we could get Cardinals tickets. Someday we'll finally get together.

Hummmmmmmmm. If the snow is white, then pigs must have learned how to fly.
Does it actually snow in Melbourne?
RJR, suppose you could come up with a squib or two for my b'day party? Here it is legal to shoot them only on certain days of the year. Is that the case there?

There is precedent -- there's fireworks for the Queen's Bday, so the President of H2G2 can expect no less...
So very glad things are going so smoothly on all (most?) fronts, Hyp!

It did snow once in Melbourne, back in 1988. It melted before the end of the day. However, you only have to drive for a couple of hours before you hit snow. There are lots of ski resorts in the surrounding hills.
It sometimes snows in Cockatoo, where my uncle lives. That's only about an hour away.
Haven't seen any pigs flying either. And, I've been looking! There was one particular day recently where people who usually stand around and do nothing were actually working. This has been happening a bit. I wonder if there's some invisible pigs flying about, who can only see in ultra-violet. They'd see purple snow.
You know what? Don't look a gift horse. . .

SC, my credentials are somewhat slim compared to Her Majesty's. On the other hand, I would be willing to forgo a large, royal display in favor of a modest firing off of a few artillery shells and a fountain or two.
People actually working? In a library? What's the world coming to?
Point taken about the gift horse.
