h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi Scotty, I'm Strider, and I'm an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) here on h2g2, which just basically means that I'm all friendly and nice and I come around and greet new people like you! I'm really a real live person, who started as just another newbie not too long ago. I promise.

Here are some pointers to help you get started here at h2g2. Here's a page they made to <./>Welcome-Newcomers</.> like you.
Also, to get you on your way, why not take the h2g2-Tour, which you can find at A317459. Just click on the link!
We even have our very own Newspaper, published weekly, <./>ThePost</.>
One other page I like that has lots of really busy conversations is the <./>Askh2g2</.> page.

One really (cool) thing here on h2g2 is that we have lots of smileys (or emoticons) here. In addition to the standard and , we have loads of individual smileys like and ! Just click on any of these smileys to get instantly transported to the complete smileys page!

If you want to see how a page is constructed, replace the 'U' in front of the researcher number with 'testuserspace' e.g. U172782 becomes testuserspace172782 .
For entries just replace the 'A' with test e.g. test712595.
You can click on anything underlined and if you click on a smiley you will be instantly transported to the smiley page. Some of the smileys on my page are links, so clicking on them will show you some of my contributions to h2g2. I use classic goo (the original colour of the h2g2 site before the beeb took over)

For a while Dr. Suess's Grinch that stole Christmas was a favorite story of mine. It just seemed to fit how my life worked out. Cold and lonely in the beginning but definatley looking up.
