I've noticed you've been scouting me a bit just lately, so I thought I'd be nosey and visit your space.
Although I've gone over to the dreaded computer, I studied Geog (and taught it) for a number of years. So long, in fact, that I've inherited a number of badly folded/crumpled maps and, I'm sorry to say, refolded them and put them in my collection. Unfortunately my part of the world (North East Yorkshire) has a distinct lack of vineyards so I could never have followed your lead. Breweries just don't have the same geographical clout.
Unlike many others over here, I have been over there. I did wander the high prairie of Alberta (OK, Suffield Practical Training Area) for a few weeks and then wandered around the Great Divide (and Beautiful BC) with a few friends (1,320 miles in three days!) I found all the folk over there very welcoming (last tourists of the year) and found many connections with the UK (Gee! I gotta aunty in Southport! - waitress in some late night establishment in Revelstoke, I think).
Keep smiling - at least you are using your Geog for monetary gain. (Anything's better than IT, for ***'s sake!)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
