Me
Warning - page has been altered to avoid too much truth!
Just a poor lost soul who likes trains n boats n planes - and anything military. I'm 'ex' a lot of things.
I was in the Army Cadets as a cadet, then as an adult instructor for 4 years then spent 6 years in the Regular Army (Tels Tech REME), 18 in the Territorials (Infantry & Military Police). In addition, I worked at sea for two years, been unemployed a bit and taught or instructed in various schools, locations and strange places. I'm currently in Further Education instructing/teaching/lecturing in Computing. So I'm Services orientated but not excusively.
I'm NOT an expert. I subscribe to Barnes Wallis' view, namely 'expert - 'ex' is a has-been and 'spert' is a drip under pressure'. I prefer 'specialist', which incedently, is what the Germans called their fighter aces.
Any contributions from myself are purely the urge to write. I have enjoyed getting myself noticed too. Isn't anonymity wonderful? Unfortunately, I'm beginning to enjoy this site, so I do intend staying for a while. I enjoy covering subjects that are not well known or looking at an event from a different point of view. Rather H2G2, no? Be warned, I dabble in languages too, those I don't know, I make up as I go, usually to explain bad typographical errors.
I will argue seriously, but prefer non-seriously. Life's too short to get seriously serious.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
