Canadian Bacon was the last movie John Candy finished.
Another good John Candy movie to see (if you haven't already) is "The Great Outdoors".

I propose a 24 hour John Candy marathon wherein we will watch as many of his movies as possible and emulate his eating habits.

Blues Brothers 2000 was such a rip off. I can't believe they replaced John Candy with John Goodman and that stupid kid. If you haven't seen it...don't. If it comes on TV, change the channel.

Don't you wish the guys at the other end of the tube and the radio would get a signal when you change the channel so they know they've pissed you off? I mean, you know the sort of thing, a commercial you hate, or a song that really bugs you...

It's funny to think about it, that a bad commercial might be costing them listenership and hurting them more than the revenue the commercial is bringing in...somebody ought to do a study.

yea i know... like those stupid d*ll commercials with that goofy bowlegged blonde kid whose probably in his midthirties and incredibly rich... smiley - grr

I haven't seen blues brothers 2000 but i'm not going to now, thanks for the warning...smiley - ok

Afraid I don't know the blonde bowlegged kid, but we're probably drawing from completely different frames of reference. I watch Canadian/American TV...

I don't like any of the Nike ads with the 70's music. Some of them get stuck in my head, others just nauseate me for some reason, I think it's the camera work.

And of course, that "Last Kiss" song by Pearl Jam gets the radio turned off in the first two bars. When I was working in a Tourist Shop on Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls back in the mid-nineties (1996, I think...can't remember) anyway, they played this pop station and the same 6 songs played over and over and over and over...smiley - yuk

My FAVORITE music is pretty much anything Metallica or Megadeth, and I enjoy U2 as well. An electic mix, I know, but that's me.

U2? gaaaaaaah! smiley - yuk sorry that's just my opinion... Moto Psycho... everybody is a... smiley - winkeye

Metallica is alright, I like 'I disappear'... smiley - ok

Only song Metallica ever made for a movie...and it was an awesome movie at that.

Nice to meet another metalhead online. Particularly an educated, relatively sane one...am I presuming something here?

There are lots of us metalheads in here. Some good entries about bands and gig venues.

I`ve been lucky enough to see all of the above mentioned bands live plus many more besides. Next gig lined up is Korn at the S.E.C.C.

I think the John Candy maathon is a good idea. The Great Outdoors is a classic. So what others shpuld we include? I vote for....

*Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

*Uncle Buck

*Splash

*the one he`s in with Ally Sheedy where he plays a cop who still lives with his mother and she is the make-up artist in a funeral parlour( it`s name escapes me)

Do any of you listen to German rock? Hammerstein is amazing.

I don't know what the hell they're saying, but I know I like it.

the only German rock I've heard is Rammstein... smiley - erm and that's it.

Talk about not staying true to your roots huh?

Post 35

Detective Armani

I haven`t heard of any other German bands either. So who`s good then?

Thanks...

Rammstein is more mainstream.
Hammerstein is an indy band. I have a friend who has a couple of their CDs.

It sounds so cliched that both of those bands end with stein...
