Hi there.....
Researcher 159112 Posted Dec 2, 2002
"we're offering you a place...but we're not allowed to tell you what the grades are..." I got one of those form Swansea!
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Dec 2, 2002
I had one from Lancaster... so I checked the grades out online. My York grades are online, too - three Bs!!
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Dec 3, 2002
On the letter UCAS first sent you is your applicant number and online enquiry password. Go to www.ucas.com/appenq/index.html, put the right numbers in the right boxes and it'll tell you exactly where you are so far with all your universites.
Hi there.....
Researcher 159112 Posted Dec 3, 2002
oh. maybe i should read the things that are addressed to me!
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Dec 4, 2002
It's fantastically useful, 'cos it's quick even when the UCAS people are being slow at sending out letters etc. and you can't wait to find stuff out!
Hi there.....

Well done!!
Have you heard anything from Durham yet? 'Cos I haven't and they're the last one I'm waiting for...
Hi there.....
Researcher 159112 Posted Dec 7, 2002
Heard from Durham some time ago...but they didn't call me for interview, just gave me an offer
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Dec 9, 2002
Lucky you! If I get an offer from there I shall have six, making me a very happy person indeed. I don't know if I'd accept it, though... it might be high, and I'd rather go to York and have a lower offer as my insurance. I don't know, though... I'm a bit worried about the whole university thing. It absolutely *has* to be perfect...
Hi there.....
Researcher 159112 Posted Dec 13, 2002
but you'll make the higher grades no problem! None of my offers have included As yet, so I'm a bit disheartened, but I suppose they're only giving their average offers.
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Dec 15, 2002
Well, the lower the offer, the more they must want you, I think. I mean, if they like the look of you then they're not going to offer you three As because that's harder to get and you might not get it, in which case they couldn't have you. So not having any A offers is probably a good thing, plus you don't have to stress about getting an A!
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Dec 17, 2002
So? To be honest having all As is a pain in the neck, people keep accusing you of being a genius and wanting you to go to naff presentation evenings I wouldn't worry, you'll get A offers from some places I'm sure
Hi there.....

Well, not *that* many people do it to me to be fair. My English GCSE teacher used to say it a lot though
So how are things with you? I enjoyed lunch (well, it wasn't strictly lunch for you, but you know what I mean) on Thursday, you weren't as scary as I's thought you might be
Hi there.....
Researcher 159112 Posted Jan 5, 2003
why did you think I'd be scary??? Is that the impression Will gives of me???
I enjoyed it too, apart from the force-feeding of cake . It was good to meet you at last!
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Jan 8, 2003
No, it's not him. He's always very complimentary about you. I just have residual shyness problems from childhood - I was incredibly shy until I was about 14 and sometimes that little bit of panic comes back when I have to meet new people. It was really nice to meet you and I'm sorry we force-fed you
Hi there.....
Researcher 159112 Posted Jan 8, 2003
I don't mind being force-fed cake!!! I just worked it all off in aerobics
And I'm shy too, I just flirt and get really noisy, and that gives me confidence!!!
Hi there.....
Super Shiny Sarah Posted Jan 10, 2003
Yeah, I do that... I find myself making bad jokes, laughing at things that aren't funny, etc etc. and then I feel embarassed afterwards... I'm getting better though. I don't make up stuff to impress people any more, which I used to do a lot
