The authors you love are incredibly wonderful..I enjoy reading most of them as well. Including quite a few others. Just wanted to say hello and I am pending my Cynichood. Ok then. Not that I know you, but I'm an American as well, though unlike you I am not legal..for those over 18 even. KO.

ACK! I wrote something cool here. And then stupidly somehow deleted it..
Anyway.. *sticks out hand* Nice to meet you! Name's Cymbeline. (See there now you do know me.) And we Americans have to stick together occaisonally.. Especially against the powers of UH - added in there only to stroke his ego if he reads this..-
I'm definitely a bookworm, sounds like you are too.. So what other authors do you read? I'm reading Gaiman's "neverwhere" right now, it just came in the mail, so i'm a happy bean..
What part of the States? I'm California.. Sporting a veddy large sunburn at the moment too.. 'S what I get for staying indoors for two years..
Trust me, being legal isn't all it's cracked up to be.. You can just buy cigarettes and have silly telemarketers call you instead of just your mum and dad.
Hope your day is going splendiferously..

My name's not Quillethe but I'll go by that for now anyway. We Americans do indeed need to stick together lol. I have 'Neverwhere' on my shelf..just haven't read it yet. I read everything from Asimov and Heinlein to Shakespeare to Jean Auel books. Lately, i've been reading terry Pratchet's books. Love them all!
Ok...
I live in the Sunshine state right now. It's, well sunny. . Amazing coincidence..
So anyway...nice to meet ya. Glad to know ya. Keep reading! And be nice to towels so that they'll be nice back!

Quillethe-
Just finished Neverwhere, it's rather good.. One of those ones you don't want to end but then it does.. So definitely worth a look.
Nice to know there are other sun-baked people around here... And of course we are all wonderfully nice to towels, seeing as they can save your life in a pinch! (Just look at what happened to Ford in book 5)

indeed most books are a good read. Let's see..there's quite a few books i'm reading at the moment. Gonna take a look at that one soon. Ford in book 5..isn't that where the security robot and him are hanging in mid air outside of the Hitchhiker's headquarters only alive due to Ford's towel? (Alas! My aunt loaned my books to a friend so I've nowhere to reference to!)
Anyway.... Stay sun-baked

Very good. Actually I'm about to do a reread, but I've just snitched many books from my mum's library.. So it'll have to wait.

OOH! Enjoy them before she asks for them back...ARGH the question! Sorry I'm a bit weird right now..just watched part of Monty Python's the Meaning of Life and the cat won't stop stepping on the keyboard, so I have to keep erasing. Annoying it is I tell ya. (Suggested books Dune by Frank Herbert, Interview with A Vampire by Anne Rice, Stranger in A Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, The Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov, Lightning by Dean Koontz (I think), and Martian Series by Edgar Rice Burroughs..not to mention Pratchett and Adams..) I could go on FOREVER! (or nearly so that is, as I have no conception of forever until it has gone by, which it never will.) Confusing thoughts I'd say. I'll probably go read some books soon.

Go Quille! Embrace the oddity! "And your mother smelt of elderberries!" *snicker* Python is a lovely lovely thing.. (and if i've misquoted, enjoy a laugh at my expense, it's deserved...) As for Dean Koontz, From the Corner of His Eye is wonderful! I recieved my (practically) daily shipment of Gaiman today and am currently learning to drive.. (Near accidents today: only 3)

LOL. "and your father wore pantyhose" or some such the French are the best in that movie..or perhaps the bunny or the black knight..or oh dn it was all good. (not allowed to swear am I? Well not on here anyway that is).
I've nearly read from the Corner of His Eye but I put it down again..just like me isn't it? (I'm telling you it is)
Learning to drive? Afraid to hit things? Are you sure that the point of driving is not to hit things? Or at least to go so slow that others want to hit you? Maybe that's just Florida..We have the Daytona 500 down here and the hicks are obsessed with it. The crashes really are the best part of the whole thing (not that I've ever watched it, but cars going around a track for hours seems pretty boring if there isn't some fire and serious injury in there somewhere). Well enjoy the driving thing..I can get my learners permit in 2 years (It's 15 down here, but you have to keep it for a whole year before you can get a license).

It's only 1030 over here.. The beginning of a nice long night. My favorite part of that movie (if I'm thinking of the right Python) is the guys' "horses." With the coconuts.. and such.
Definitely pick up that book again.. Because it's really rather awesome. It's a "revolution of the mind" to use a quote from Vanilla Sky, another mind-trippy experience. (I loved that movie)
Oh people here hit many many things, including trees, trash cans, etc (all whilst I was in the car with them, ) But I just don't really want to get hit/ smash a small child on the sidewalk. Strawberry milkshakes aren't my style.
However I do agree with the sentiment of smiting the world. SMITE! WRATH!

Coconut horses WERE GRRRREAT!
wow! 10:30 -to go back in time...oh i wish. Sometime, i'll try to pick up the book again. I will..I will! The children wouldn't mind too much it would be the families that cared. And you probably. Squishing children sounds pretty awful, though. I haven't seen Vanilla Sky yet, but I was planning on it really soon. My brother has, so I want to, too. Well I can no longer feel my foot so I think I'll go read now. I have to get up early and take my friends to the airport (or ride along in the car with my mom) not that is a have to thing..i WANT to. AHHHH!The foot is waking up..pins and needles. OK then I'll be a-chatting in awhile. Time to curl up and intake literature. Nice to have a chat with your boyfriend? Not to pry, but i feel i should something about him. How is he doing and the such. IF you feel like answering and that I am not being rambunctious, please do. TTFN- Sleep tight and good reading!

Quille-
*giggle* I guess if I were to visit your side of the States, then, it would be my future.. or some such.
Yes, it would be a terrible thing if I squished a kid. All messy on the sidewalk, who would have to clean that up? Not me, I hope.
Vanilla Sky- WONDERFUL EXCELLENT AWESOME movie. Also trippy as all get out.
Getting up early = Satan. To use a silly overused expression of this coast. Tomorrow I think I shall get up at noon. That should be "early" enough for me. *giggle*
Chad. (the boyfriend) I've been dating Chad for about 4 months.. (well four months as of two hours ago. *giggle*) and it's been a bit of a rocky ride. He's two and a half years older than me (so 21), and sometimes we get into problems due to the fact that he works a lot and is busy, and then when he does get time off he forgets to call me. *snicker* Relationship politics are a silly silly thing. He's doing well, last I talked to him (last night). He had a stressful night but other than that things are peachy. I really do like him a lot, even if I do tend to rant and rave about him often. He's a cutie, long brown hair and skinny. Anyway before I bore you too much, onward! (Have you a boyfriend/girlfriend? *wouldn't want to be closed-minded there.. )
As for being rambunctious, honestly there is probably little that you could ask me that I would be offended by (nothing comes to mind), so no worries
Tomorrow I am going to go see Lilo and Stitch.. I have waited and waited for this movie to come out! *giggle*
You've siblings then? What's your family like? (Allow me to interrogate you! *giggle*) Just Curious.

Or some such. Not sure but probably some such of that type. ER... lost in my thoughts.
Glad you enjoy your relationship with Chad. Sounds like a good bloke. No one here for me..all alone. LOL. (Not boring me at all..)
Yes, my brother's 17 (18 in October) and he's at camp in Gainsville for the summer. I live with my mother and my aunt, as my parents are divorced..(My dad lives in Nevada and I hate him) Haven't seen him for 2 years . Right so that's about it in the family department..other than my ultimately religious cousins and aunts and uncles (not the one I live with) who constantly condemn me to the infernal depths of the devil's realm. Fun, eh?
Lilo and Stich sounds..erm..uh..like a movie? The kids I am looking after at the moment want to go see it, doesn't sound TOO awful. So, basically that's it.
What's the family in your house? OK then...(Just finished 5th novel this week last night )
Dandy...sleep tight. Noon sounds like a good time to get up..Since I go to sleep about 4 AM most mornings/evenings.
Quille the temporarily sane ( I think we should have lemur and towel smilies)
Enjoy your movie!

Yeah, he is a good bloke. Except when he's being a dork like now and making me wait for him. That's the annoying thing about boyfriends - they can be annoying. Gee I make sense! *snicker*
October? October what? I'm 28th.. *giggle* My 'rents are divorced too.. My dad lives in Alberquerque and I live with my mum and my stepdad, but he's out of the picture soon. Evil religious cousins? I'm sorry! (I grew up Catholic.. you're talking to the first female altar server in the state of Hawai'i, wee how fun!)
Lilo and Stitch was.. AWESOME! It was great, especially for me 'cause I grew up in Hawai'i and I haven't seen stuff like that since I was eight.
In my house is me, my grandma (in my room.. DIE GRANDMA!! - she bothers me and she's not even my blood grandma), my stepdad, my mom, my 15 year old brother and my 13 year old brother. But pretty soon it will just be my brothers, my mom, and me. Then at my dad's is my dad and my stepbrother, and then his ex wife, Liz. I think that is all of my close family. Divorces and remarriages kind of screw things up.. *snicker*
Anywho, I hope you're having a good day. I'm gonna go rest my head, somehow I got a headache. Talk to you later!

**If anything looks like it will be boring..scroll through it..I'm afraid I overtalked (If that is a real word)**
People in general can be annoying..I understand your meaning. I'm just a bit young to care about the whole insecure "I need a boyfriend!" craze that most of my friends appear to be going through at the moment. Glad that they seem to have some redeeming qualities though.
My brother was born on October 16th, while my mom was born on the 12th.
Yes, unfortunately my evil religious cousins are newborn Christian or some such nonsense (as they choose churches by their programs the church offers [day care etc.], which I here is an improvement to their last trend of picking churches-by their architecture..which I admit wouldn't be awful, except that my family [other than immediate] has no taste.) I only really met them 2 years ago when my granfather died and we somehow decided to move to Florida. My evil cousins are mostly moving away now, but my grandfather left a beachouse in trust for all of us to use, so we'll have that out of the deal. (i know I sound awful, but really)..(actually 2 out of 4 of my cousins aren't entirely ruined and evil yet.) Oh yes and my evil religious family has no real sense of religion..they are the kind of people who say it's bad to be around a drink because 'God' wouldn't like it (which I could understand..I guess) but it's really just so that they don't turn alcholic again. They are not truly religous, and as you can see- I am not either. Though, I respect those religions that aren't just used as a big joke by their participants. I say 'Right On!' if you can do that.
I have alot of neighbors that grew up in hawaii..was it nice there? Sounds like it would have been wonderful..
Now you really don't want your grandmother to die, especially in your room. Mine did. Luckily we left that house soon after..eek. (Not that I'm superstious it's just freaky). ( That was when i found out about her fake teeth and asked to have them-of course they wouldn't let me! Hypocrates..you know when they ask those questions they should really consider them first. I was only about 9 though, so no one can truly blame me *evil smirk* It really is awful that she bothers you though. I guess I can sort of imagine what it would be like..not quite though. Aren't grandmothers supposed o be nice and cuddly and such..especially if they aren't blood relatives? Where's your grandmother going? Or is she sick? Do you get along well with your stepmother and brother? Sounds like quite a bit of family... Well, the more the merrier?
Sorry about your headache . Take some aspirin..it should go away. *hands some aspirin over* . Ok then..hope you have a good resat of your night and a wonderful weekend. I'm off to start Neverwhere .
P.S.-Sorrry if I bored you and took up your time with pointless chatter.

Well.. SOME redeeming qualities.. (He's out of my favor at the moment.. again.. BIG SURPRISE! ) Eh, you don't need a boyfriend.. I don't think anyone does. They are just nice to have around sometimes.
So they are Libras then.. I'm a Scorpio (yeah, I pay attention to that horrrorscope junk.. it's fun though! hehe) Christians can get pretty scary sometimes. I went in one day, and my pastor told me that anyone who was "not of our faith" was going to hell. Of course he later was arrested for exposing himself to high school students. In fact, I don't think I ever knew a higher up in the Church that wasn't corrupt and twisted in some way.
Well beach houses are nice! Honestly I talk the same way about my grandmother, it sucked when she died but now we get an inheritance, which is cool. That might get me a car!
Hawai'i was nice. It was pretty boring while I lived there, but now that I live in the Valley, where life goes at the speed of light, I miss how laid-back Hawai'i is. In fact, that just might be a choice of mine for later on in life (after I have money and am done with the theatre). It's really very warm and comfy and quiet, or so I remember it. And very pretty.
Unfortunately, this grandma is a leech. She's been living with us for 10 months (IN MY ROOM *hiss*) and she drives me nuts. She treats me like a guest in my own gosh darn home. She's not sick, in fact she's pretty young (and won't get a job), but either my mom is going to kick out her husband (and his mother with him) or she is going to Social Services. I know that seems kind of harsh, but you haven't met this lady. My stepdad's pretty cool.. I just can't stand the fact that he (like all men my mom dates) gets bitter about money and starts saying she should pay him back (like we aren't worth the money he spent. it makes me sick.). I kind of like having a big family though, more chances for blood relatives I won't hate. *giggle*
Definitely wasn't bored, it gives me something to do while at work.. I work at Kinko's and it's very boring when there is no one to help. My headache went away, luckily.. I think I just needed to sleep a bit. Today I went out on a date with my friend Daniel (I go out on dates with my friends instead of my boyfriend.. anyone but me see a problem with this? *snicker*) and tomorrow I'm going out with Nicky, this guy who's like my brother, and his girlfriend. Wee! This means I get a lot of guys buying me lunch.. Mwahaha! I enjoy their company too though..
So what do you think of Neverwhere so far? Good eh?
-Cymbeline, equally talkative..

Quille the cynic...TC Posted Jun 23, 2002
Sorry that he is out of your favor..Well, mostly I'm sorry that he did something to you that put him out of your favor and irked you in some way (I don't really know him so, I can't pity him for your wrath that will soon descend..hehe). Yeah, I know I don't need a boyfriend I spent some time trying to reason why I might possibly need one, and figured out in the end that it really is only troublesome and good every now and then (for someone my age).
I'm a Leo..though I barely ever pay attention to horoscopes.
Hehe..church politics seems like most politics..the more screwed up and twisted you are- the higher you get. Glad you got some inheritance, despite the loss of human life (but hey, she would have died anyway, right?)
Indeed..I heard Hawaii was great as well..just so..perfect I guess. I don't know if it will be the same if you go back there later in life- it may be dissapointingly different from how you remember it before. (Though it sounds so great that I'm not sure it ever could change!)
Oi..the leeches are the worst. It sounds like you stepdad might be a momma's boy if he can't possibly tell his mother when she is behaving innapropriately and indeed can't even determine that for himself. Whatever he spent on you, that he thinks was something he shouldn't have..Well, he should of thought of that before he spent it. If he can't see that you and your family are important enough to spend money on (especially that which is hard-earned, since it makes a gift all that more valuable) he's really not even worth acknowledging. (though I am glad he is pretty cool in other respects) I understand your mother's troubles (well, sort of..but I try) and feel sorry for the decision she has to make. A big family ought to be pretty nice, especially if you all can get along at least relatively painlessly.
What exactly is Kinko's (something about clothes or something i thought? or perhaps that was Chinkos or some such)? It sounds pretty funny that you go out with your friends instead of your boyfirend, but that's what friends are for, isn't it? Hope they're buying you some good lunches.
I finished neverwhere just now (3:02 AM) It was really quite marvelous. I'm going to check out some of his other books. (I already have Good Omens here).

Well, we had a big fight at this party we went to on Saturday night.. and then we made up. Well, actually it was more like me yelling. I didn't hit him though, points for me. So now we are okay.. and I really did end up having fun at the party. The next day, however, was not quite as much fun. Working with a fat hangover is lame.. On 4 1/2 hours sleep. I'm dumb, oh well.
I don't usually pay attention to daily horoscopes, I just find it interesting what your sign can tell you about yourself. Some of it's true, some isn't, but hey.. it's fun .
Church politics are utter crap, and the men who are in the church are sick. Heh. Sorry.. Found out some stuff recently that bothers me about a church member I used to think was my example of someone that SHOULD have gone into the church.
Hawai'i is very beautiful. I am going to visit there some day.. but my first priority is Ireland/Scotland. And England. All in the same trip. I really want to see Europe.
Well apparently she and Tony might get back together.. So you never know. People are weird. But either way she is getting out of my room, because if not I will hurt her. A lot. Soon. Yeah, Tony's kind of a nut, he is definitely a momma's boy, and he really shouldn't have said that about the money. He spent it willingly.
Kinko's is a copy shop (photocopies).. In fact, that is where I am right now. I've got about 4 hours until work, but since I stayed with my boyfriend last night it's not worth the trip home. Kinko's is pretty cool, we have the west coast monopoly on photocopies. Just don't tell the justice department.
Well, my boyfriend doesn't have a car, and they do. So we go out. It's just a chance for me to hang out with them and get some food out of the deal.. I got burgers and coffee yesterday from dAnny.. that was cool. Hehe.
See that book is awesome! Have you read Smoke and Mirrors? Or Stardust? I'm done with those, you can have them if you want.

Well, at least you had fun at the party...Why didn't you hit him? *giggle* hangovers would have to be one of the worst things about drinking..or so I'm told..Well 4 1/2 is better than 3 or so hours..always remember that.
Hehe..of course I think the actual church buildings in themselves are gorgeous but the things that take place inside, well...let's just say that churhces are not my place.
I went to Italy and Paris awhile ago..really nice!
People are screwed up!
Glad you have the monopoly..whip the underling copy slaves! *whip*
LOL..people with cars..hehe. And lunch..that sounds like a good idea, lunch mmm.
That book was awesome..no i haven't read Smoke and Mirrors..I actually believe I have Stardust somewhere around in my room. I'm gonna read some books by Orson Scott CArd on another suggestion by my pestering friends.
Hey, you said you were going into theater? I've been in 7 or 8 plays, I think. (I can't sing or dance really though, so I wasn't the main character often). Anyway..

Well yesterday I made it up.. I slept for about 2 hours in the car while my friend Brian (who's moving! *sob*) took another guy Josh home (in San Francisco, 45 min away.. silly people who live far away from me...). And then I came home and slept from 11pm until noon. *giggle* So I'm awake now
I didn't hit him because despite all the junk I say I do love him and like being around him. Especially now that he isn't being insensitive anymore.
(THERES NO JEALOUS SMILEY?!?! what's up with that? <snicker> You've been to Europe? Lucky!
Orson Scott Card is good : well, Ender's Game and the fairytale he wrote.. what's it called... *clicks away at the internet* Enchantment! Those are good. I never could get into the rest of the Ender series. That series actually reminds me of another by David Feintuch called the Midshipman's series. Very good.
Oh a theater person! I'm backstage, usually stage manager. Actually I am starting up a new show pretty soon.. Pretty exciting stuff.
