hi pheloxi,
I read that ages ago and that's when I realized that Justin had suffered some sort of nervous collapse just before HEARING THE VOICE OF GOD speak to him.
Can't agree with you that Justin is omnipotent and superior, though it seems that he thinks he might be.
<>
Yes, I think we should always be thankful for small mercies.

And what right do you have to tell a Christian minister, who serves the one and only living God daily, what is right and what is not? What about your 'arrogance'?
I recall you telling me once what the theory of evolution means. I was pretty well-versed in evolutionary theory (for a layman - I understand the theory and the mathematics that underpin it) and you told me that I was wrong anyway when you had no idea what you were talking about, and couldn't even understand the maths that I gave.
Who were you to tell someone who has studied the theories in depth what they mean?
And az doesn't /believe/ that you are a Christian minister. That is why she says what she does. I have told you this until I have despaired.

hi pheloxi,
Well, that *was* a bit of a personal 'attack' on Justin so I suppose he had your posting removed. However, Justin is far more insulting towards us and yet we do not 'yikes' his postings.

hi Jordan,
<>
Oh, I thought I said the things I do because I'm a Canadian Woman.
But seriously, I do find it hard to believe that Justin is a Christian minister because he does not behave in a Christian manner. It's like some people who call themselves parents yet do not behave as parents. Although they are responsible for creating a child, and in this sense they are the biological parents of the child, if they do not love and nurture their child, or if they abuse their child, then (in my opinion) they fall short of being parents in the complete sense of the word.
So Justin can say all he likes that he is a Christian minister and therefore, in his opinion, can say whatever he wants and apparently believes himself to be superior, but I just have a hard time believing that he is a true Christian. The true Christians that I know (and like very much), yourself included, seem to know Christ much more intimately that Justin does.

Christian minister or not. I think not.
for me Christianity is helping, and respect.
in my opinion Justin is dangerous, because I do not think Justin realises the power of his words. we have a lot of young impressable persons on h2g2. one of them might do something to become saved one.

There are many reasons to worry about Justin...
...but one thing I think you shouldn't worry about is anyone taking any notice of him.
I accept it's possible that there are people in the world who have the right mixture of vulnerability, self-loathing, poor education, weak minds and sheer denseness to actually credit Justin with some wit. But if those people do exist - and I despair, but they probably do - then I don't really care if Justin makes them miserable, because they deserve to be.
On the other hand, one reason to worry about Justin is that some impressionable individuals may consider Justin to be a typical Christian, and may form a negative impression of Christians in general on that basis - rather than forming a negative image of Christians on a person-by-person basis, as I prefer to do.

hi Member,
<>
Excuse me, but I think that was a very unkind thing to say. Not all people are born with equal intelligence and their upbringing (which can create self-loathing) and lack of education (which leaves them with less knowledge than they need to get on in the world) might make them prey to getting sucked into a vortex of fear and hatred that they are told is Christianity. Being vulnerable does not make someone deserve a nasty fate. Do you honestly disagree about this?
Justin is in no way a 'typical Christian'. He is an extremist. Personally, he has not tainted my views of other good and kind Christians as I don't believe Justin is a Christian in any sense of the word.

"Being vulnerable does not make someone deserve a nasty fate. Do you honestly disagree about this? "
Yes, sort of. Not vulnerable on its own. To deserve it, you need to be all the things I said. There are vulnerable people who have the strength of mind to ignore Justin. There are weak-minded people whose education, if they choose to use it, would warn them against his type. And there are dense people who are not vulnerable to that kind of blandishment because their blissful in their ignorance. Fine.
But if you're the type who Justin could potentially damage - I have no sympathy, no, any more than I have sympathy for people fined for speeding or suffering from AIDS because they shared needles.

Member,
You seem to have little sympathy for anybody who cannot get along in the world as well as you can. And also for people who make mistakes. Have you never made any mistakes in your life?
<>
So you also don't like so-called weak-minded people. And you don't give a toss about how they may have ended up feeling that they were weak-minded and not able to form proper personal value judgements for themselves. So you are judging these people in the same way that Justin judges all of us? But your judging is somehow okay and Justin's isn't?
<>
Quite unfair comparisons, if I may say so.
Again, I ask you - have you never made any mistakes in your life? They may not be the same mistakes that you are talking about. But it seems you are trying to make a point by using extreme examples, much the same as Justin does.

sadly Justin does not make mistakes in his own his "saved" mind.
only "unsaved" make mistakes.
