Greetings! My name is Missy. I am twenty-two, and I currently live in Atlanta Georgia, USA with my boyfriend Jason and cat Mog. I absolutely hate living here, but I cant quite get out right now so it will have to do until I am able to go elsewhere. In any case, I've just had my first proper cup of tea, and have decided to come see what all this h2g2 business is about. Sounds fantastic. I believe I will be contributing alot to this particular cause indeed.
So I guess I am also supposed to include a bit about my personal hobbies and interests. I was a student of computer animation at the Art Institute of Atlanta for the last four years, but a couple of months ago I decided that any school to which I can go for four years, ring up a fifty one thousand dollar debt, and only get halfway through a bachelors degree is no good and obviously not the place for me. Especially if it’s an art school. My initial problem was the fact that I was expected to do way too much of my artwork on a computer. I think computers are wonderful tools for many things, but when it comes to artwork I much prefer doing things with my hands than having to translate raw creative inspiration to a machine that knows nothing about it. Then there is the fact that I have no real idea what the hell it is that I really want to do with myself for the rest of my life, so in all the confusion I decided to quit school for a while until I could decide on a trade. I have just recently decided to complete my education as a writer since it is the only thing I do creatively that has always come rather naturally to me. I have yet to find a new school program that fits my needs at the moment, but as soon as I do I will be a student again. Hopefully a much happier one this time.
I still cant decide on one specific thing to do with myself for the rest of my life, but I have a hell of alot of things I would like to continue doing, hopefully for a living. These include film, animation, sculpture, painting, photography, comic books, acting, set construction, writing, makeup, fashion, music, interior design, and anything else I should ever want to dabble in. While writing is the only thing that I consistently do all the time and could ever generate a steady income from, I figure, life is way too short to spend it doing just one thing the whole time.
Other than that, some of my interests include reading (favourite authors: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Hunter S Thompson), Music (favourite bands: They Might Be Giants, Radiohead, Orbital, Morphine, Ween, Weezer, Phish, Negativeland, OMD, Beethoven, John Lennon, Van Morrison, David Bowie, Stereolab, Man or Astro Man, Sonic Youth, the list is way too long. I enjoy pretty much any music that isn’t god awful pop or modern country.), reading comic books (some of my favourite comic books include the works of Sam Kieth, Evan Dorkin, Jeff Smith, Ben Edlund, Johnen Vasquez, and many more.), watching cartoons (Invader Zim, Space Ghost, The Brak Show, Eltingville, Powerpuff Girls, The Tick, Ren and Stimpy, Ranma 1/2, you know...the good stuff.), watching films (mostly foreign and independant films, but i am willing to aknowledge the genius of a few Hollywood minds. Some of my favourite directors include Tim Burton, Sam Rami, Darren Aronofsky, Peter Jackson, Terry Gilliam, Tom Tykwer, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Christopher Nolan, and Kevin Smith), and occasionally playing a musical instrument or two (vibraphones, accordion, and drums). I also enjoy looking at paintings. Some of my favorite painters are Ralph Stedman, Brian Froud, and Sam Kieth.
I have no set religious belief but I am fascinated with the old religions of pre-christian Europe and Asia. I especially like Faeries and have seen several in my days on Earth. I love animals, insects, and trees. If you would like to talk more with me, I am Pixivixen11 on AIM. Also, you can check out my website at:

/>There you will find some of my first attempts at photography. One of the last classes I took at the Art Institute was Digital Photography, in which they gave me a really nice Nikon digital camera and six photography assignments to complete within ten weeks. During this time I had more fun and learned more than I probably had in my previous years at the Art Institute put together. I ran absolutely amok and took around three thousand pictures in ten weeks. This was one of the deciding factors in my decision to leave the art institute. I figured, if all of my classes don’t make me feel this liberated and fascinated, I am DEFINATELY at the wrong school. The only sad part was having to give the camera back. In any case, the website above is around eight hundred or so of the three thousand pictures I took that quarter split into galleries. As soon as I get myself another nifty digital camera more photos will be added.
Other than that, this is my web-journal. Keep watching if you actually care.
