I actually need to get to bed in a minute or two, because I've gt my period this week and I'm wiped out. I'd love to IM soon, though. Maybe Thursday or Friday night?

Oh, and as an aside... if all goes as planned, JEllen and Hellbound, I'll be mailing parcels to you both this Saturday. This past Saturday I woke up after the post office closed.
Thanks for the book info, JEllen. I could always buy *two* books, if the need should arise!

Both MSN & hootoo seem to be playing up, maybe its "time of the month" in Beast land?
Anyway, managed to squeak to PC on msn but couldn't get the pic to post to Vix, i will attack it from another angle tomorrow!
JEllen, got the webshots link & have it, want to look at them in big format & i doubt the beast will let me at the moment.
RK, couldn't open the "what a big..er...masculine member of the poultry world" file either. *Honestly this is NOT as as you might think, the dancing hedgehogs are much much worse!*

I posted a link ot the best index to fractal sites I have found in my journal. The index page is a treat in itself. I know a few others have mentioned their fascination with them and Ellen has worked with them a bit.

Hi PC, not a lot to say about the moot. I stand up and mention events I have booked such as the Beddington Park Walk, church visit in the morning - its an amazing building worth seeing whatever religion you are, followed by wildlife hospital and spanish tapas. All I get is loads of grief about a church from people who are pagan fundamentalist, so II have cancelled that. I mention the Spring Festival, no feedback at all, I cannot risk over a thousand punds if people arn't interested in coming, so have cancelled that as well.
The pub was to noisy for talks, so arranged another night in a quiet pub for talks no one turned up, I mention it at the moot, get loads of laughs and no feedback. Only problem is, since stopping the talks, less people are coming, but they can't hear the talks so what am I supposed to do?
Its non-smoking, but people smoke round the corner, I spend every day afterwards wheezy. With new research saying that passive smoking increases your risk of lung cancer and heart disease by 25%, I don't see why we should put up with it?
One of our members did a sponsored walk for the Witchcraft Museum, so I asked for a round of applause which she got and for donations, which she didn't get.
I am thinking of renaming it the apathy moot. We ran a workshop as well, we had to pay the person running it but no-one paid us.
Sorry you got all that, but I am fed-up, as you may have guessed!

Aww, poor Kaz!
It's the organiser's lot it seems quite often isn't it?
I think the Apathy Moot is actually quite a name, you might end up getting people being energetic just to rebel!

Hi Terri,
maybe I should name it that officially!
BTW perhaps your eyes convo needs a spruce, it has got long and though that shouldn't effect the action on it, perhaps a new one would get us all going again.

Hi Kaz. That sucks about the moot, all the grief and lack of enthusiasm. People can be quite gung-ho about things, on a superficial level, and so apathetic when it comes down to it.
So... here's the update on the merger/buyout at my company. And I had to hear about it after the fact, because the CEO is such a b*tch she made the announcement after half of us had gone for the day yesterday.
They've chosen a buyer. That buyer is THE competition against the company all of my sales reps work with. So, we will be losing all of their business. I spent today saying goodbye to people I've dealt with daily for a year and a half. And there's a very good chance, since the buyer my boss chose has their own firmly established cap and gown division and corporate headquarters, that we'll all be laid off (aka "made redundant"), perhaps as late as June, perhaps as early as Thanksgiving (a little over 30 days from now). So, there it is.
I'm not feeling too chatty this afternoon, feeling kind of drained and more than a little bummed. Talk to you all later.

Bummer you and Kaz have bad experiences.
Hope you can soothe yourselves a bit tonight.
People can be mighty dissapointing!
*also dissapointed*
We all need some surprisingly good experiences.
Maybe all this bad news means we are on the verge of good changes.

Oh.
Just about the worst case scenario really PC. Poor you, thank goodness you have K to share it with, who will also be unfortunately in the same boat presumably.
BUT maybe it means you will move onto better jobs; they were being a pain in the bum recently weren't they? Will you get a redundancy package? that could make all the difference!
Thanks for the suggestion to my journal Kaz, not thinking of making changes right now, but will bear it in mind. Maybe you can dream up a nice new name for the thread, must include the word "eye".I've got quite fond of "Bird's Eye" so it would be a bit of a wrench to change it, plus i'd rather do it when it coincides with a particular life event. Yes, it may have stagnated, but in some ways, so has my life since i started the thread. May be coming up for a change, we shall see.

I'm fine, still have a bit of tummy ache and a bit wobbly but otherwise getting better
Thanks for asking
I always thought 'Carina' was a bit of an endearment like sweetheart or something like 'mamoiselle' in French but friendlier and not as formal - I forget where I've heard or read of it tho. Of course I could be totally wrong..

"Corino" (which should have an accent over the "n", if I could figure out how to insert characters) means "love" or "affection". So I suppose "corina" would mean the same in the feminine.
I'm feeling a bit better today. After my rather succinct posting yesterday, I flopped down on the couch to feel sorry for myself for a while. K arrived about an hour or so after I did, just sort of quietly sat and let me go through all of the moping, wailing, then bitching I had to until I snapped back out of it. (I'm very grateful to him for that: it's very patronizing to have someone tell you, however optimistic *they* might be, that "everything's going to be all right", when you know damn well it's not.)
So, we ordered in Chinese for dinner (crab rangoon, veggie fried rice, and Empress chicken), snuggled a bit, then watched four episodes of "Fawlty Towers" and "The Manster". Just what I needed.
Today I mucked along and got a reasonable amount of work done in proportion to my overall lack of motivation or incentive. Poor K's car got the Denver boot sometime between starting time and lunch. (For those of you unfamiliar, the boot's a big yellow steel disc they affix to one of the wheels on one's car when one has several outstanding parking violations. They will remove the boot when said citations have all been paid.) So, they poor guy's got to go over there tomorrow during working hours and pay the city $510.00, and should have his car ready to drive again by quitting time. What a hassle. At least it gave everyone something to laugh really hard about this afternoon!
Got home this evening prepared for an evening alone, and the silly boy had walked over to surprise me with a visit. We watched a few episodes of this (warning- may be offensive to some, likely to be hilarious to many- viewer discretion advised): <./>http://www.sho.com/site/queerduck/home.do</.>
Off for a baked potato and a shower... will pop back before bed to see if anyone's been by in the interim.
