Oh dear, that may in fact be what it is !!! Some concerned Daddy-smiley - spider shipping his tribe from Krypton before it blows. They'd be pretty hard to see if they are still pre-hatchlings.

(Coming to a theatre near you, ... SUPER-smiley - spider !!!)

Your saga with your dad reminds me of that scene in Monty Pythin: How To Irritate People.
Have you seen it?

or

"We are the Knight of NI! and we go NI! smiley - rofl

Talking of marmite it has a vegi friend called vegemite which reminds me of this:

'Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich'

smiley - laughsmiley - rofl sorry in one of those moods today, in case you don't know thats an extract from the song Down Under, by Men At Work.

My older brother introduced me to Monty Python when I was about 7. Which is to say he changed the television to Monty Python's Flying Circus every week.

One of *those* moods where you remember song lyrics from the 80s? smiley - yikes

That new import company we started ordering from carries marmite. Would you believe we sold the vegemite we had in stock?

As far as I've been able to learn on line, it's made the same ... The processing of used yeast products from breweries and distilleries. The down-under way just has different measures of salts and stuff and, to my taste, is generally coarser.

So it's like Bovril? Similar to Marmite, but slightly different?

Cal and the Great shoe box caper

Post 37

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

I think so, for flavour. Though both vegemite and marmite are much more intense than most bovrils I have met. (Cubed or liquid)

Post 38

Raven - I think I know what happens next

You gat cubed marmite??? smiley - yuk That can't be good!!!

Cal and the Great shoe box caper

Post 39

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

Sorry, I meant that Bovril comes in dried cubes, and liquid concentrate form here. In our grocer's, I can get vegemite and marmite, in their usual state.

Though not long ago, someone posted a thread about a squeezeable version of Marmite !!! Half of the people expressed the smiley - yuk factor, and the other half nearly condemned it as sacriligeous. smiley - rofl

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby)

Having checked the ingrediants on both jars Bovril and Marmite are both Yeast extracts. Bovril used to be beef excract I'm sure of it. Marmite is made by Unilever and Vegemite is made by Kraft, that's the only difference there is between
