? I_m not suer what you mean. My brother gave it to me as a birthday present, he saw it in a shop window, thought it wass nice, then bought it. I think its whole purpose is as a decoration, they're collectables of quite a high value, actually.

Does it come with a pair of nutcrackers? otherwise I'm assuming he tried to bash the nuts with the decoration. You see here you don't always get nutcrackers with them, mostly they are just for decoration

ahhh now I understand, we nornally only have snall ones that you hang on the tree, I've not seen any big ones before, hence me not knowing

I'm just searching for some suitable pics, where you can see how it works. I think these wooden ones are typically German, so no wonder they aren't all that well-known.

You see the lever at their backs? If you puzll them up, the mouth opens, then you onsert the nut and press the lever down - nut cracked.

Yes, they're the ones we use, too. I'd never have bought a nutcracker like this, but hey, maybe I can sell it on ebay

Why not, I'll just wait a year or two. They're sold for $296 in the USA, and for a good €150 (£100) here.

Yes, I know, which is why I agreed. Unfortunately, it's mostly not obvious at first sight, though. Yet, I prefer to be open-minded and trying to overcome prejudices - which, I have to admit, is hard, but not impossible.
