Cynical Marketing: Pt II
Posted Jun 19, 2002
OK, this could turn into a regular moan! But everything is an opportunity to make money: things like nu-metal. I don't kinda go in for the whole 'goth' thing, but what it stands for, is a kind of rebellion against society. But marketing turns this force and turns it into the one thing it understands: money.
The rebellion against society is used against them, singers like Marilyn Manson pretend to go along with all these kids, but in reality they're just saying what they want them to hear, all to make more money!

Weird ol' me

I freak even myself out sometimes! Have you ever seen something and just been overcome by how amazing it is? I'm not talking about anything massive always but sometimes it's tiddly things. Like, the other day I was just looking at my hands and was amazed at how complex they are especially my fingerprints... I SO need to get out more...!!!

Spots

Spots....they're a pain in the derriere! Just at the moment you don't want them they pop up in force. I suppose it's because of impending exams, but I've got a ball to go to soon: they could pick (no pun intended) a better time.
I've been suffering from spots for the past four-five years, you'd think that they'd be finally sodding off but no! They keep sprouting up wanting their fifteen minutes of fame and then dissapearing never to be seen again; hey maybe they ought to star on Big Brother!?!

Cynical Marketing
Posted May 27, 2002
It's just occured to me: the irony and cynicism of marketing. I was just watching MTV, and I watched a band called 'the calling' I think, anyways it doesnt really matter, it was just one of those bands that pretends to be rock, but at the same time has VERY scary eyebrows.
To the point!! He was wearing a t-shirt with a Soviet eagle on it, and I have seen some Che De Guavara t's as well, and it occured to me that it is the irony of ironies that the symbols of communism, which dont agree with personal wealth, are turned into ways to gain more money!! Is there nothing that people can't turn into a profit????
Losing faith in humanity here!!!
