What browser are you using? Internet Explorer?
Do you want to add h2g2 to your 'favourites'?

In your address box? Do you mean your favourites, or do you mean the white box that you type the address into?
If it's your favourites, then if you go to your second choice on the menu: 'Organise Favourites', then you can select the address and choose the 'delete' box.
If it's the white box, then you can't delete I don't think... they're just a record of the addresses you've typed into it.
If you haven't added it to your favourites, I would do that: just go to either the login page, or the front page and go to your favourites menu at the top. The first option is 'add to favourites': click on this and it's in! You can then just click on the favourites menu and choose the h2g2 page, rather than going to bbc.co.uk each time.
Hope this helps!

No problem!
Sometimes being new at something is the best: because there is a fantastic sense of achievement every time you encounter something new. I'm doing a digital image course: and you feel great everytime you finish an exercise!
If you need any technical help: I'll help the best I can

Hi FWT, Thanks for that, are you doing that course at home or college? Ive always wanted to do a course, but I cant sit for long, so just have to learn here at home. I damaged my back some years ago, and cant do a lot of things I would like to, if you know what I mean. If I put you into my friends page, I can contact you when I get stuck, if thatswith you?

No problem You didn't have to ask
I'm doing it a local internet cafe, thats linked to the local fe college. You can do lots of courses online now though: so perhpas you could do a basic internet course nearby, and then do lots of courses online?

That sounds great, but right now I have big problems signing into my MSN messenger! I am told to go to internet connections & click on LAN setgs. but it says that is not suitable for dial up connections? It takes around 8 attempts before I eventually get in? I would like to try that on line course you mentioned, how do I get on to it? Sorry about all the questions, its all going pear shaped for me today

Hiya!
That may be because at busy times, MSN won't let you in: it doesn't matter whether where you or, or on a old or new pc: sometimes it just can't take no more!
With regards to doing a course, you would have to look up one in your local area: the local fe college should have something for you, or will be able to try to hook you up with someone better than them

No problem!
There are loads of courses out there, and they're really good fun. learndirect is a good place to start, though it may cost you something [I think it's www.learndirect.co.uk but it might be .com or .net instead, or even .org !]
If you need more help, just give me a shout

Hi FWT, The course I found on line is Word 97, covers graphics, word processing, the lot! Trouble is I need to print it out, as I have to be in Word mode to do the exercises. Thats no problem, but like I say I need to replace my ink cartridge. Just had a go at that Guide ML stuff to jazz up my journal pageIts far too complicated for me, leave it the way it is

No probs! That sounds like a good course
You can replace your ink cartridge easily: just write down the model number of the printer and go to your nearest high st.
You may feel you want to change it to GML later: it's probably best to dip your toe in a little at a time!

Hi FWT, Im going to take my cartridge up town and see if this bloke I know will re-fill with his needle. You can but these kits for £10 that you inject into old ones! lot better than forking out £25 for a new oneAs regards to Guide MLfor now!!

Good idea! Though it doesn't work as well on colour cartridges as on black ones.
Regards to GML...read the wondered post

It will look just the same: because you've just added the first bit...you've dipped your toe in the water and now you need to dive in!
To do this, you firstly have to decide what tools you want to use. Do you want paragraphs? [Recommended] Do you want a picture? Do you want to link to another page?
There are lots of things to do with Guide ML. Perhaps you'd like to look at the help pages to decide what tools you want to use? There is Writing-GuideML and <./>GuideML-Clinic</.> which are really useful for deciding which tools you want to use. If you decide which ones you want, I'll help you add them
G'Night!
