Just thought I'd come over here so we stopped using Bruces page 
Your page looks great - I like the picture 
If you wanted to get a smiley in there (which is what I think you were trying to do when you asked Bruce), you need to make sure you have a closing /....so a star would be <smiley type="star"/> - all tags in guide ml need to be closed, so if they're just a single tag, like the smiley or a picture, you need to make sure to put the /.
