*lurks*
He died 11 May last year... When I showed up here... (I didn't get an account until about 6 months later.)
I'll leave Ming Mang to you now, I guess. I just followed you over from the Factoring Quadratic Expressions entry, and noticed that this was the only conversation on your page, and started lurking, and well, here I am, not lurking anymore! I'm actually posting!
Congrats on your English, by the way! It's very good.

Too bad. He was a very good writer and funny. Does he have any children? It would have been strange growing up with a father who wrote crazy books for a living.
I'm glad you posted. It's weird wondering if people arel ooking at the page or not if they never say anything.
Anna
PS, creepy coincedence (sp?) you coming here and him dying.

Tell me about it... In the first six months I was on h2g2, only one person posted. It gets better though: now I even get /Italics/ (the really important people at h2g2) responding to my journal entries .

Soudns like a dream come true. Funny, i kept thinkign something major would change with the neew version of H2G2 but it looks the same.
Lurkers exist everywhere...even in RP clubs where it's pontless. It's life, i guess.

There are a lot of changes under the surface - it's only a minor version change anyway: 1.01 from 1.0

I didn't lurk! I *love* it when people talk to me, so for a while I even had a "Please start a conversation" paragraph at the bottom of my page... I don't quite know whether it is still there or not anymore.... I've changed my Upage too many times.

Argh!! This conversation got lost in my postings pages, I do apologise Anna!
How did the exams go?
And I'm jealous, I've only ever had one italic posting in my journal, and that was when Abi was researching everyone going to the London meet and discovered I had rodents as well...

*smiles* it's okay, really. The test went just fine, but I'm very glad that they are over now.
Well, maybe with a change to a better version is a beginning to great things.

Oh good. Lucky you, having finished them all... I have four left to do... Do you know when you get your results?
There are great things already!
But yes, hopefully it will be better.

Yeah, in a few days. There will be parent/teacher conferences, i guess, and then grades. I do not want to see them.

Whatever they turn out to be, there's a good side ot it. No school until September. I'm ready for a long, summer break.

Money doesn't sound bad at all, especially if you like what you do. I keep hoping to work at a library near by, but so far no luck. That, and our school requires sumemr volunteer hours, so I'm working on that.

Well, I'm saving up for uni, see how much I can ease the debts I will no doubt incur...
It requires you do volunteer work? Why?

As our principal says, "The community raised you. Now, as members of it, you must give something back." Actually, it's not that hard to do, and you get to meet a lot of cool people. It's not slave labor or anything. Just doing easy stuff, like helping plant flowers.
As a warning now, before i forget, I'm going to be gone from June 18th to the 30th due to my father's business trip. He's taking me but not the computer. Two weeks without the net, and i'll go through withdrawal, though i think the trip might actually be fun. With my father, no one knows what anything'll be like until it happens. (He's into surprises)

Ah, Ok then. Although you could look at it that when you grow up and become part of a community raising others you will have contributed back to it... but then, I'm just being awkward. It's a good idea, my college try to get us to do volunteer work as well, but I unfortunately haven't enough time...
Well, I hope you enjoyed it!

Hey. I'm back , although not permanently until my room looks like a room again. Our neighbors were trying to fix some cable or other and knocked out a window. Then it rained. And it just gets worse from there. The trip was wonderful, despite my doubts. We had a lot of fun, and about as much history. Every building has a story to tell if one actualyl listens. (this doesn't include tour guides)
Volunteering can be really fun, but it's time consuming. Sometimes, though, it can help one decided what they want to be in the future. Volunteer for different things and you get a feel for what's required in the field.
Anyway, i'm off before the librarian screams at me for getting online without her permission. "All for one and one for all," said the muskeeters as they rode into a battle where they had no chance to win.

Oh dear... how bad is your room and contents?
Sounds like you had rather a good time though.
That's the thing though, there is no voluntary work going for what I want to do - something physics related.
Was she incredibly irate then?
