Fiction

Another good place is Infinity Plus. They have a lot of fiction and nonfiction, as well as extracts from books.

Tests

For what it's worth, tests aren't all bad. That is my only positive statement about assessments of general knowledge.

Sadly i have a ton of not so friendly remarks about testing of any sort. One: no test can tell other people what i'm like. No test can show them determination or attitude or emotion. Second no tests gives a true picture and therefore should not be a detemining facttor in anything. It can maybe tell you that on a certain day I had a problem with fractions or binomials. It most certainly doest account for the fact that on that day I had cramps and did not want to be at school at all. Thirdly tests can be tiring nerve wracking. Instead of giving a picture of my abilities they point out that i haven't slept for three nights in a row and can barely stay awake long enough to read the questions.

Do i like tests? Nope

So I don't forget

I guess I better write this down before i forget it. An ACE is an assistant (helper) editor. I guess that makes them pretty important and probably nice, too.

(Random thought)
I had a lot of fun today watching my mother trying to figure out how to program a VCR. I fidn it easy to push about four buttons, set a time, and be done. She was at it for nearly half an hour. I guess technology outpaces people. (my g-ma doesnt know how to use a remote.) Also, i wonder if it is always going to be that way. Same goes for computers, microwaves, and other appliances. The more peopel try to make products easier to use, the more older consumers are baffled by how to use the appliance. And manuals aren't a pleasant thing to read, either way.
