I should have read a bit more of the backlog. I'm going to be 'old' this year.
This year I've moved house (very stressful - and I still haven't got my bed), passed my CBT, taken up archery, gained two guinea-pigs, been to the Isle of Wight, driven a quad bike.....etc, etc.
It's been fairly eventful but good fun. Work continues, and I'll get a new batch of students to break in in a couple of weeks.
How's you?

You really HAVE been busy. Which is often a very good thing.
So instead of merely smacking blokes with a broad sword, now you can take aim from a distance, eh?
About a month after we last chatted, my little girl delivered my 2nd grandson. A week late, and he is growing like a bad weed. He nearly equals the mass of his 3 year old brother.
Elsewise, work, domestic duties, and occassional visit to a panto theatre for a really good laugh. Just stuff. My latest undertaking is building the equal of a 4th bedroom, ... in our basement. It'll hold our books, desks, files, PCs and stuff. So then we can conjoin the smallest and middlest bedrooms into a master "suite".

Oh I spent a fair bit of time smacking a couple of chaps into the submission with a sword this summer too. We even got a weekends training with a re-enactment society this year, great fun. But yes, it has to be said I can see deffinite advantages to weilding a bow; you're in a much stronger position that way.
A bit late now I know, but congrats on the new(ish) arrival. What's his name?
Building work.... The mess!

I've managed to keep the saw-dust in one general zone. And as milady is bothered that she can't be a very big help, she has kept up quite well with a broom and the shop-vac. In all, not too bad at all.
Well, we already have a (step) grand-daughter Rebecca, who turned 7 last December. Then young Nicky, (well named, I thought) who turned 3 in February. Next month, Nathan will celebrate his first birthday.
My 'little' girl has quite a house full. And as her hubby is frequently quite child-like, ...

Have they got a as well?
As long as it's only sawdust it's not too bad - plaster and cemment are the worst materials for spreading themselves round the house and then not shifting.

They live in the equivalent of "council housing", without proper room for a . But they have had a couple of s about over the past few years.
As it's only a basement room, I'll be doing the walls out of 'wafer-board', or what used to be called chip-board. All the shavings and fragments from a saw-mill, super-pressured with epoxies into a very hard sheet. That stuff will produce a lot more sawdust than the simple framing lumber, so I'll be cutting it outside.
If you had a notion to drop an e-mail to Keip NJ < @ > forces gc ca , I'll happily bore you with a piccy of the kids. Taken in April when Nathan was baptised, and the rare occassion that all three of them were CLEAN !!!

Sounds a bit like my family then. We could manage to get dirty in a sterile room - and that includes my Mum. Mind you I still blame my cousin for the gataux incident at my Auntie's wedding.

The e-mail offer stands ...
As you can imagine, with 4 lads in one house, all actually in the teens for awhile, ... If cleanliness is next to Godliness, then we were all destined for a very hot place.

*wakes up*
Right you are, will get onto it.
Well just watch out for the pitchforks - perhaps if you take a duster with you you'll be forgiven.

Hmmm, in a previous hootoo incarnation, I was rather infamous for assorted hoovers.
How's life and stuff with you, Lady? As prepared as you're likely to be for the onslaught of returning students?

Have I found Nighthoover then? Ohhhh, 2Legs will be dissapointed.
Life if good atm. I won my first archery tournament on Sunday (it's actually the first one I'd ever shot in to), and I've got another one coming up at the beginning of October.
We've been forced to take one of those bank holiday things on Monday, so I've got a long and lazy weekend ahead of me, with various celebrations taking place for my birthday. Girly night tonight, and with family on Saturday. Hope I'm feeling ok for it.
Enrolment started here on Thurdsay, and I'm now about to dash off down to A block and take over on the ID-card machine for the lunch period.
How's the decorating/building coming along? Speak to you later, must now......

Congrats on the archery, my friend. I've tried it briefly and know it takes some good natural skills.
It seems that every time I call in, you've a birthday approaching. Just how many of those things DO you have anyway?
And the project has gone well. Three weeks of available time saw the room constructed, wired for electric, phone, broadband and cable TV. Then painted and carpeted. This week-end is the main labours of moving tons of books, desks and files down there. I hope this ancient carcass is up to the challenge.
My "long-weekend" occurs next week. So do enjoy yours, and soon enough, I'll try to do the same.
See ya ....

Thanks, although I suppose I'd better confess now. I really didn't shoot very well that day (nerves I suppose) and I didn't actually have any competition for the cup since I was the only female in that section shooting. At least I turned up and stayed the course as it were.
I enjoy shooting, although I'm beginning to struggle a bit with the distances - I'm underbowed atm and need something with a bigger poundage. Thankfully as my wrist seems to have finally healed I should be able to do something about finding another bow and shooting it in during the indoor season.
It's today, and now I've made it to quarter of a century, and from now on I'm couting backwards.
Moving s. Great fun, especially when you find some old treasuer that you'd forgotten about burried in the bottom of a box. I hope you're shelving them in the right order.

ATM, they are again in a bit of disarray. But they will again be by author, by series or date as is my preference, and easy enough to find as wanted.
So, congratulations and happy personal anniversary, Lady. I do hope the Master has plans to treat, spoil and pamper you nearly beyond redemption.

A very good system.
Have some birthday . I'm not sure what we're doing tonight, but I can't wait to get home and open the pile of cards that have arrived for me. Pluss is a myster hidden somewhere in the house and I've got no idea what it contains.
Just in passing, ...
Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Aug 30, 2005
for the !!!
Have you noticed any surreptitious trips to the mystery , with water and anything resembling food-stuff?
Just in passing, ...
Odo Posted Aug 30, 2005
No, the only animals in the house are the guinea pigs - unless the mysterious package likes living in dark places.
There we are, I knew it - he's got me a .

My wife, also ex-military, had very good practice. A place we lived in had a single -visit in each of 3 years.
The first time, I was home, and evicted it.
The second, I was just minutes into a 12-hour night shift, and so she hid in our computer room with the door closed until I got home.
The third, I was 5 hours away, on a training session. She had phone numbers of three very close friends to call on. Instead, she dialled the first that came to mind, ... the taxi company! A lad came around and evicted the safely, but every time she called for a car, she was referred to as the -lady.
