smiley - laugh He was rather confused last night.smiley - biggrin I waffled my way through a couple of blue lines then dumped him in a pub whilst I rang a quarter of major. The expression of horror on his face as the quarter, then ringing in the local area was discussed was smiley - laugh. Poor chap.

If we waffle on about blue lines and dodges he’ll soon give up and disappear. smiley - winkeye

I can talk about ringing jargon to my hearts content.

Thinking of that, I'm supposed to be learning Stedman the moment. I mean, Stedman?? Of all the dull methods to ring... double dodging, the slow work, and woe betide a bob!! AAH!!

For the bobs just count to three and then carry on and hope that you find some useful clue as you head into the front that will tell you if you're going in slow . smiley - winkeye Just keep track of which set of trouser legs you’re on!smiley - biggrin Well I find it useful to know anyway.

Stedman isn't dull! Ok then stedman doubles is a bit repetitive, the greater the number of bells involved the greater the excitement when a bob/single is called. smiley - yikes

What, you get to dodge *again*? And then try to remember whether you came out quick or slow last time...thinking about it, it's not like I've actually learnt singles yet. Or the starting points.

For triples and above if you’re at the back and a bob is called you dodge three times. It doesn’t matter if you’re on your way out or in. If only one bob is called you then go to opposite way to that which you were expecting to. smiley - erm

Eg. If you’re ringing the treble, you go out quick and you’re expecting to come in slow. If the a bob is called whilst you are at the back you dodge three times, (if you dodged up you then lie as normal) and because of the bob you would come in quick rather than slow.

If two bobs had been called then you would go in slow. If you’ve got a nasty conductor who throws in about five bobs in a row just to keep you guessing smiley - yikes, keep counting and hope for the best. There are other clues you can pick up on but everyone seems to develop their own method of coping.

Singles for triples and above are different again! smiley - erm Hope some of that makes sense. smiley - biggrin

Is the waffle taking effect yet do you think? smiley - winkeye

Bobs I can usually cope with, in a limited fashion, though I do sometimes mis-count. Singles, well, I'll just have to look up the line and figure it out! I erally have to do that before this evening too...

You did give Becky sufficient directions to find Shackleton Hall, didn't you?

Only I know what women (particularly musicians) are like with directions.smiley - winkeye
