The CBC has repeaters every 50 miles or so. And entire broadcast and news service staff in each province. Since this country DOES cover 6 times zones, it assures reasonably timed programming for everyone. Well, anyone that actually listens to them.

I listen to Radio 2 in the morning, Sarah Kennedy and Terry Wogan are a MUST, if you're bored at work, have a listen to Wogan on the listen again http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/wogan/newsreaders.shtml and I listen to Wave 105 (a local '80's,90's and today' station) at work in the evening.

There's usually enough noise going on in the work-shop that I can't really "listen" to the content of the radio. Just the general back-ground tone of it. So the general blend of music from the most recent 20 years or so is adequate.
As to "tuning in" to anything on-line, it ain't happening. I've no speakers on this PC, and this being an Air Force base, there are so many firewalls and security protocols, I couldn't even access that site.

I'll try to remember to check it on the week-end. But being as ancient as I am, my memory ain't so good.
And for tonight, perhaps tomorrow as well, we have a house guest. A neighbor lady recovering from minor surgery...

Have a look at the TOG's page on that link and count how many times you've said 'What did I come in here for'

I'm not old enough to be a TOG but too old to be a TYG

I guess you counld be right, TOGs are Terry Wogan fans who make up most of the substance of his show, they have names like Helen Bach, Donny Gall, Mick Sturbs, Major Look, General Nusance, Heidi Vodka, Minnie Skirt, Ma Might, Dora Jar, Drew P Draughers. I go by the name of Titan Knutz

Yeah, I heard it in a radio comedy and it made me laugh so I use it when I can

After the initial cringe, I'd laugh too.

It was in a sketch about British Astronomy and how they were going to deal with a Asteroid (Bruce Willis style), every time some one said asteroid the rest of the cast said 'Bless You'

I'm one of those odd Canucks that has always understood and enjoyed British comedy and humour. Ever since I first saw some of the old "Carry On" movies. I'm sure I'd get quite a kick out of that Asteroid business.

I've also always been a sci-fi fan, ... So when I met the Hitch Hiker's Guide that blended both, ... I couldn't stop chuckling from the very opening.
A brother tried to read it, and just couldn't see what was so good about it. Poor lad.

I once tried to explain the British sense of humour to a German boyfriend, I failed
