Well of COURSE the tornado was a woman's fault. EVERYthing can be blamed on a woman somewhere, somehow.

Alright, not very convincingly, but hey, ya gotta try. smiley - laugh

I guess this one is named after a woman because she's so distructive, I wonder if there's been a Hurricane Alex (apart from Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins of course)

A quick check with Google says that the first hurricane of 2004 was named Alex, August 4th.

Oddly enough, there hasn't yet been one named after my daughter. And if her ire is really aroused, she is nearly equal to one. smiley - laugh

Hmm August is her birthday month too, too much co-incidence here me thinks

Indeed. Did there happen to be a full moon, the wailing of banshees and howling of wolves and other portents on the night she was conceived?

Oh smiley - silly me, ... you were probably a bit distracted and not listening for such things. smiley - evilgrin

Hmmmm, I've always thought that lad was un-natural. Ever since "Bat out of hell" came out.

Yeah, smiley - erm I'm that old.

This was the Bat out of Hell 2 tour we went to see, I like Meatloaf, always have, I drew the line at AC/DC tho, a bloke in Florida once offered my ex $50 for his Alice Cooper T'Shirt, because he was banned from performing in the State

smiley - erm I actually DID like a couple of his tunes, ... and much to my shame, even a few disco and Boney-M things from the same time. But I'm sure I'll eventually be forgiven for such obvious lack of taste. smiley - laugh

Everyone has an embarrasing 70's music story to tell, I was a fan of The Osmonds I was only 7 at the time tho

Most of my music taste derives from the late 50s and most of the 60s pop-rock. Fun and lively stuff.

I'm afraid to say my decade is the 80's the decade taste forget smiley - blush

There was still some stuff that I enjoyed from the 80s, mostly the first few years. But even my old and stuffy taste finds a number of tunes each year that are nice enough. I've never been one for very loud, rauchy or raucous stuff. But definitely not the stuff you hear in elevators/lifts or shopping malls ...

Or the stuff you get at the end of a phone when they put you on hold, usually it's Greensleves or Jupiter from the Planet Suit

Ah yes, the solution for all big businesses, ... voice menus and horrid musical strains. Anything to drive away an irate client. smiley - laugh

Many of our smaller places, say the family doctor or the dentist, play a feed from the most common local radio. That isn't too bad ...

Post 96

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby)

That's not a bad idea, I hate those automated "Press one for Blah, press two for blah blah" smiley - grr

As does nearly everyone else. So any change is an improvement, eh? Especially as the most common radio station used plays everything from 1960 to the present thru the main working day.

We have specialist radio stations Capital Gold which plays 'Oldies' 50's, 60's, 70's 80's, Virgin which is supposed to be a rock station, Classic FM which is Classical music as is Radio 3, Radio 4 is news, drama and the like, Five Live, talk sport deal with sport. Most local station deal with '80's 90's and now'

I couldn't even try to count how many different radio stations this province has, let alone the entire country. Any town larger than 25,000 people is likely to have atleast one.

And then, of course, there is the CBC, government owned, operated and boring in BOTH official languages. smiley - laugh
