It's not just you...
Laudatortemporisacti - RIP TB Falsename, I will always love you. :'-( Started conversation Sep 25, 2005
I read your journal... I hope you don't mind.
But I agree with you - something's going on around hootoo, and I dunno what "it" is either. But I feel it.
Coz old friends of mine on here have suddenly stopped talking to me, and when I post to them, they reply with two words and kill the convo.
I dunno why. But it hurts.
I think RJR has a point - people on H2G2 have always had some sort of family connection.
They do not think like others. We're all just ourselves, and no one looks down on us like that.
I've always felt that H2G2 is a special place - we can be who we REALLY are - we don't have to pretend to be "normal" or "fit in" with the rest of the world.
If you've got problems, you can state them on hootoo and nobody will laugh - we all have problems. Maybe that is why such good friendships are formed here. No one is trying to live up to any kind of standard that others have set. It's unlike real life where we have to be careful of what our parents will say, what the neighbours would think, whether so-and-so will still speak to us, whether we will be cast from society and be left all alone. And yet, h2g2 IS real life. In fact, it is more REAL than real life, because that is the one place where people can be honest. About their lives, about their feelings, about each other, and most importantly - about themselves.
But it's changing...And that makes me sad.
It's not just you...
