I have two.
1) To finish all the outstanding stories I have on ff.net
2) To make a substantial hole in the mound of wool I have in a large basket in my room, before I buy anymore
I'm NOT (underline, underline, underline) going to resolve to keep my trap shut and not to upset anyone with my spade-calling ways on h2. Waddya think I am? Made of stone.
Have a good 2007

I already broke my only resolution. I resolved to not make any resolutions, and act that defeated itself.
Happy working-away-at-the-mountain.

well... reading more
reading more in a focussed way
not buying too many books until I've read some of the unread ones I already have...
hmmmmm that's a bit one-sided
trying not to cry at the drop of a hat
and
to get a new job
just the two for me this year (since the reading one is the same every year )

I really DO wish you well with yours, Lady Sho.
And looking at your wools there, Reef, you DO have a bit of a challenge. I could suggest my height, measures, etc, ... but since much of your colours are very much NOT manly ...

Sho - employed again! Posted Jan 1, 2007
me too
I love stripey stuff
(currently trying to teach the gruesomes to knit - without any noticeable success)
Resolutions
Sho - employed again! Posted Jan 1, 2007
but what's "manly" Rev Nick? Surely it means being in touch with your feminine side
my mother-in-law used to knit vests for cormorants (and other sea-birds) for when oilslicks used to get to them. she made a couple in beautiful fair-isle design, and at leaat one proper cabled one in Aran. Of corse, she was completely batty...
how about a Dr Who scarf - I hear they're back in fashion...
Resolutions
Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Jan 1, 2007
The stripy stuff is sock wool and it knits up into the Stars and Stripes, I'm going to knit a pair for a friend who's hubby is serving in Iraq at the moment. The problem is I only have odd balls of one colour so it's not enough to make sweaters or anything. I've just got rid of my 'Dr Who' scarf in favour of a nice fluffy one and no-one else needs one, I do have plans for a lot of the odd balls, there's a charity called British and International Sailors Society (BISS) that accept knitted hats that they give to ships crews from warmer parts of the world who aren't prepared for the Cold climate here in the winter.

that sounds like a great charity
Do you knit those wee hats for the Innocent Smoothies too?

Hi RG a good pair of resolutions there good if you can.
Dont take this the wrong way.
But as for not going to resolve to keep your trap shut and not to upset anyone with your spade-calling ways on h2. Thats up to you, but you could sort of try counting to 10 and giveing it a little time to let things settle down before you have a go at anyone.
Not expecting you to get walked all over, or put up with any more s**t than any one else has to, but you are to good to keep on fighting.
Bet your good in a bar fight...
Lots of best wishes for The New Year

"cold climate" there?
But that does sound like a good cause. Another thingie I thought of is anything for your PDSA. I'm sure there are lots of kennels with temporary residents who would like a wooly something to on. Colours not important.
Oh, and my feminine side seems to be a -chick, into leathers.

Ok Nick just cause you have snow shoes in the cupboard is still gets colder here than some places...
How did your new years do go...

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 1, 2007
*ahem* I do NOT have snowshoes in the cupboard. Mind, my bedroom slippers are rather long, wide and rigid soled.
The party night went great, and the day was busy ... All of our seasonal decor is again tucked away. Both of us being back to work tomorrow, it would be a week before we'd again have the time and energy.
Yours? And everyone else's here?

bobstafford Posted Jan 1, 2007

Unfortunatly I didn't have the time for the Smoothie hats
Not me Bob I prefer to use my tongue and wit(?) instead of my fists
We give our old towels and duvets to the animal shelters, they last a bit longer than knitted stuff
Resolutions
Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Jan 1, 2007
Smart Lady, tongue and wit is often far more effective than a knuckle at making a distinct point. And I suppose the towels and comforters (as we call them) would stand up to the daily necessary laundering far better. We've handed off a lot of such things to our vet/boarding kennels.

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Jan 1, 2007
I don't think knitting things would stand up to the rough handling they would get
