It's a bit dreich in the fair city of oerth today, the sturdy boots are proving themselves to be Scotland proof, as I sploshing through puddles. For class this morning in wearing a grey patchwork joe browns tunic, found brand new with labels in a charity shop for £6. Ni time to change so that'll have to do for the agm too. This evening it'll either be a black floaty next number (charity Shop £5) or an eBay principles gown in aubergine and gold silk (£5 plus p&p)
I have a black and gold jacket (jaeger outlet £20) and a set if diamanté jewelley from my mother.

Went for the black dress- the purple one was too low at the front and showed my bra.

Well, it would be ok with the right undergarments!

The jacket got a few compliments- the black dress was fit for purpose, wasn't too hot or too loose etc. I enjoyed being fashion critic and made the following summary should you ever find yourself invited to a Scittush dancing event:

Satin is a bit clingy and unforgiving.
Backless dresses look wrong
Little spaghetti straps keep falling down
A bit of sparkle is good, catches the light as you move.
All over metallic makes you look like a Christmas cracker
Pleats move nicely, but add pounds

"All over metallic makes you look like a Christmas cracker"

True enough but at least it will guarantee that you will get pulled. I'll get my coat smiley - run

Sunday 3novembet-travelling home from Perth to Lisburn, but with a dance class in the morning.

I'd planned to wear my joe browns tunic again, but it got very damp and creased yesterday, so I've opted for my emergency outfit. This is based around a madly multi coloured double layers skirt that I bought from a stall in Vegas ( 2 for $150). It is basically a short skirt over a longer one, but the loops and ties mean it can be knotted and twisted into a variety of shapes. It's very light, takes up no space, and I'm glad I brought it with me. I'm wearing it just as a floaty hippy skirt, with a grey t shirt, a berry coloured light jumper (monsoon, eBay 99p) and maroon leggings. Jumper was a bit warm for dancing, should have removed it, but the skirts fluid movements while dancing were a delight .

Teamed with boots and jacket now for a hippy chick look for the plane. Glad of the gloves and scarf, could have done with hair serum.

You can call me TC

Fashion tip wanted: While tidying out my wardrobe I found a scarf I'd got for free with some clothes I ordered. It was still in its cellophane. When I unwrapped it, I discovered it was one of these loopy scarves that you wrap round twice and doesn't have an end. I tried it on, but couldn't for the life of me get it to work. I tried it with both loops the same size, then with one loop loopier, but it just wouldn't work. What am I doing wrong? I nearly always wear a scarf of some kind - sometimes two - a silk square underneath and a woolly wrap-around one over my coat when I'm cycling in the winter.

Should I give up and give it to someone at work? They all wear the things and look quite at home in them.
