I was planning to write a journal entry starting with a Van Morrison quote
"When it's not always raining
There'll be days like this"
...about how, yes it rains a lot in this 'ere part of the world, but when it stops, and you can sit outside the pub with fellow t%ssers (biker mates) setting the world to rights before going for a curry (that was Friday night), or go shopping in a lovely boutique where you won a £50 voucher and find the most darling little turquoise cardigan (Saturday), or get up really early with friends and family and climb Slieve Donrad, punctuated by a rather stunning picnic if I may say so meslef (Sunday), or take the bike out for a run round the Ards peninsula, cross on the cool ferry, admire the mountain what you climbed yesterday, and have lunch in a rather fine pub en route...
...then days like this are indeed rather good.
But then you come home from the bike run and find that the computer's been infected by a virus cos son's been surfing pron, and purse has gone missing from my handbag, entailing cancelling of credit cards etc, and all the March winds and April showers decided to come together on the day back to work, then you hope that there'll be rather fewer of days like these.

Life's like that, had a great camping holiday with my mates at the weekend, however it was marred by the fact that the night before we went my car got broken into and they stole my amp and sub which I only bought two days earlier...
Just gotta take the rough with the smooth and keep smiling...

Slieve Donard was the highlight of my weekend- didn't do much else at all- so thanks for that
On the plus side, i haven't had any major negatives past few days(apart from the ongoing living situation) so, blessings counted and all that.
Bye the bye- is surfing pron like surfing prawns, but with fewer crustacians?

...And to cap it all, cryptic texts from odd people!
Still, at least there was some good to balance out the aggravations. When's Ben Nevis happening then?

It's good to keep in touch!
(By the way, I'd deliberately mis-spelled that "p" word to try to avoid the dreaded PF. But it didn't work! Yes folks, this journal entry was removed for being offensive etc etc, before the sensible headed ed's reviewed it and re-instated it.)
Ben Nevis....maybe this summer, maybe next. Haven't quite sussed out summer hols yet, and funds are tight, so we'll see what happens.

Honestly, just because you have used the word, it doesn't mean that you're going to indulge in the same. I bet you could write some really p**n*graphic stuff and by clever use of words, avoid s and completely.

I didn't hear Donard laughing. Seemed just about as serious as mountains get, to me
Oh, and this from a search in 'Ask Jeeves' "Ben Nevis is, at 437Oft the highest mountain in Great Britain". http://www.gferris.freeserve.co.uk/Nf/height.htm I was wrong... again! So about 1.5x what we climbed then
Actually... not that far from Nevis, really

"And i would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for these pesky kids"
Grumble, grumble. I'll mail it to you (an empty envelope with a 2nd class stamp on it)

I wonder who yikes'd the post because you wrote pron, for flicks sake? And anyhow, since when did pórn become a swear word? The mind reels . . .

It happened so quickly it must have been automatic. I'd written it, pressed "publish" and it didn't appear until I went back in next day.
Meanwhile, I had 2 emails - the first the standard automated one telling me that the entry had been pulled because it contained something offensive etc, and then a second one from the eds explaining that it had been re-instated as "the mods" had been too heavy handed.
I know others who've had problems with disappearing journal entries, so I'm not paranoid that someone's out to get me
Key: Complain about this post
