I'm sorry Bel, I let you down on the poem thing ... ended up with sister at hospital - after getting out of her plaster of paris (she was in it for a year) her heel has developed and ulcer again and her ankle seems to be dislocated? It's back to weekly visits to hospital for her I think - won't know for sure until tomorrow .....

Hope you're alright and sorry for leaving you stranded.

Don't worry about the poem, family comes first.

I'm very sorry to hear that your sister is worse again.

This foot ulcer is much worse than the last - she's been put on antibiotics (a cocktail of them) that she'll be on for the rest of her life. It's right to her bone again and I really think she'll lose the foot this time - but they'll try all other options first.

Apart from that things aren't too bad

So you can say gag in that context? I looked it up, and from what I understood gagging is caused by a mechanical process, like you get when being at the dentist's.

Yes gag is a reflex like when you stick your fingers down your throat you'll gag automatically, but it can be induced by the thought of something horrid.

I was telling the big lad about a metal prong the dr stuck into the hole in sister's foot and it went right to her bone and she didn't feel a thing - it induced the gag reflex in the big lad though.

Oh, OK then, I'll have a look (I went for retching instead, although it's a word I had never heard before I searched).

Retching's good too but it's more like dry vomitting if you see what I mean ... gagging just doens't go that far although it may lead to retching.

I like the EG, have always done. There are lots of great entries in there. I've only decided that currently, I won't write for it any more.
Maybe one day I will do so again, but for now, I want to try a few other things. I need to improve my English, you know?
