Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 19, 2002
In reply to your other post. I have indeed been a silly sausage.
Clare was out drinking with one of her pals last night. (which explains why I'm the only bloke out work without a hangover the week before xmas. I was babysitting while there was drinking)
Anyway, she got home about 11 pm, spent an hour or so telling me about her night, and about how she had only drunk a couple of glasses of wine, and wasn't really that drunk. me believed her.
Basically our daughter Grace is teething, so wakes up crying alot in the night. Normally on weeknights Clare gets up for her 'cos I have an early start for work. But last night she assumed I'd be doing it 'cos she was drunk, and I assumed she was doing it 'cos she wasn't that drunk. Just your basic break down in communication, but at 2 am, it's not the best time to sort it out. I got a bit huffy and basically told Clare I wasn't doing it. *hides in shame*
In my defence she did tell me to poke her if Grace woke up, just before she went to sleep, but she only said that cos she was drunk.
I've apologised and she's forgiven me, so looks like I'm off the hook. And I'll be sure to be on dummy duty all night tonight.
Hmm never thought of the Xena/Gabrielle sub text before, well worth another viewing now. Xenas blonde arch enemy (forget her name) is pretty hot too! I don't know, you are corrupting my innocent mind girl!

Good morning. How's the hangover?

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 20, 2002
Oops, breakdown of communication indeed Sorry, shouldn't laugh
I got horrendously pissed last night- see my journal for further details. I also sem to have a huge bruise on my left hand, which suggests I fell over, although I have no memory of doing so
Castillo of Xena's arch enemy. How can you not have noticed the subtext, there are hundreds of websites about it, and the production team themselves have openly discussed it.
I ended up drinking with my boss most of the night- he started out afraid he couldn't keep up with me, then he switched to rum, and I had difficultly keeping pace with him! He's also going to be in big trouble- he promised his wife he'd be home at 1900- we didn't leave the pub till 2200

Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 20, 2002
And I bet he didn't mention to his wife that he saw you strip naked either.
I'm still gobsmacked by that! You are one heck of a lady.
Mind you I seem to remember Clare getting her baps out at a few of her xmas parties, but no one ever paid her for it
So much for you sitting quietly at the bar taking notes then eh?
Can I ask how far you went, strip wise?
You really are a naughty girl aren't you.
what charity did the money go to out of interest?

Derby Royal Infirmary- that's just down the road from our workplace. We'd said we'd do the full monty- but the management of the place our do was at made us stop before we took our knickers off
Never mind being home late- I bet he didn't tell his missus he tried to snog me! At work he's very proper- one beer, and all that goes out the window
So, how was your day? Less eventful than mine, I imagine

Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 23, 2002
What a boring management you had. I'd have let you do the full monty if I were the boss. Mind you, if your anything like most girls these days, you'll be wearing thong knickers, which hardly leave alot to the imagination!
Good on you both, just think of all the benefits than money will be put too.
Your boss tried to snog you, lol, suppose it's not a xmas party if he doesn't. Always handy to remind him of close to pay rise time
I trust you weren't too annebriated to defend his advances.
I've had a great weekend, went to see Lord of the Rings yesterday with Clare. Top class film, it really was breathtaking. You seen it yet?
How has your weekend been?

No- I haven't seen the Two Towers yet- I had a really silly row with one of my best mates, and we were both too pig-headed to make up, until Sunday- part of our making up is going to see it together- but after Christmas.
Best thing about the aftermath of the party was, the director over our department wanted to give us a serious bxllxcking today- conduct unbecoming blah blah blah- then he was told it was the MD that made up the money for us to do it, and bought us shed loads of ber afterwards Hence, he couldn't disipline us without pissing off the big boss
Good weekend, almost entireley. Much more beer than I expected- kept meeeting up with old mates that wanted a Christmas booze up- I can honestly say I ain't been sober since Thursday Ain't now either- I'm under orders not to wake Bruce- he's up at 0430 for a day's work- so I reckon best thing to do is keep drinking and say good morning, rather than try and get into bed (PC downstairs).
You all ready for Christmas? My day's all planned- first thinig, prezzies with Bruce- then Church, then to mam and da's for beer and food.
And yes- sober enough to chanell advances for own purposes

Clever girl, that's what I like to hear!
Excellent news about the MD encouraging you That's the xmas spirit.
I've been relatively sober this week, something I intend to change radically once the pubs open! New Year is going to be the big one for me though, going 'up north' to visit some mates for a major beer up.
Enjoy the Two Towers with your mate, it really is breathtaking!
Clare is gagging to give me my present early, I've resisted so far, but might stay up late tonight and swap them. I can't wait to give her hers, she is going to freak. Spent way over the budget we set, but knowing her, sshe has too.
What did you buy bruce? Hope he's got you a jar of slippy liquid
Merry Christmas
I hope to continue chatting to you about Red Dwarf, Sci Fi, Fancying girlies and everything else in the new year. You really make me giggle mate, Thanks for that.

New Year's Eve is going to be pretty big for me- a friend has decided to have a party, starting at 1200, followed by pub, then another oub that doesn't close
Bruce got me a League of Gentlemen DVD, and a survival card, he's also getting me I, Claudius on DVD, but that hasn't surfaced yet.
What did Clare and you get each other?
Have a good one- speak soon

Hi there bruiser
Well sounds like New Year was pretty big for you! Yours went with a bang, a crunch and a spilling of blood. You poor thing, hope your assailant ended up in a worse state!
We had a great one, no mortal combat involved, but still good fun. Xmas at home eating ourselves silly on Clare's wonderful cooking, and New Year spent with friends from Cheshire, which involved me reaching new levels of innebriation
I love League of Gents, so funny. Missed most of the last series though I, Claudius is a great film, hope it turned up.
Clare is really in the dog house for overspending on me this year, we had a 50 quid limit and she brought me a thousand quid watch! I am of course totally over the moon with it, and even more chuffed that she saved up for it out of her own money. She is one special lady
She was delighted with the stuff I got her, although I did buy the wrong skirt But she took it back and spent the money on loads of new clothes, she does love shopping!
The kids got tons of new toys, we really have to move soon just to fit them all in the house.
I might be off h2g2 for a while, work calls
But if you'd like a chat anytime, feel free to drop me an email at [email protected]
Take care of yourself and Bruce.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
Simon & Clare
