Nothing better for stress relief than blasting away monsters.
Seriously you get an even bigger kick from killing a real live oponent. Give it a try!!!!
Wow, you really never beaten him at chess? I still insist I let Clare win to keep her interested (honest gov!) just like all the PC games she whipps my butt at!
That was the problem with Davidson too different from the excelent Tom Baker, tough act to follow.
Any other TV proggies you like? Star Trek? Space 1999 (you too young for that one) cartoons?

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 18, 2002
Too young - technically I'm too young for Blake's 7! I enjoy Space:1999, but not to a fannish extent.
Star Trek I'm into, and The Avengers, Buffy, Dark Angel, Sapphire and Steel, all sorts really.
Davison melllows with age- watch a story of his now, now the yers of passed. You might not view it so harshly.
Hmm, maybe I will try online gaming

Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 18, 2002
You try online gaming and I'll give the Dr Who re-runs a try!
I love buffy too, but seem to have missed an entire series somehow.
My wife went off it when angel left strangely enough lol.
Saphire and Steel, now that's before my time!
The avengers was well cool.
Oh I don't think I've asked you yet, who is your favorite Red dwarf character?
While we wait
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 18, 2002
Lister! Because I really do know people like him- slobs, but not bxstxrds.
Missed an entire series Which one? Most seasons can be summed up in a few lines. Maybe your wife ought to start watching again... Spike is something to
over in seasons 5 and 6.
Sapphire and Steel isn't before your time- 1979-82. If you can remember Tom Baker, you're old enough, so there
Trouble with online gaming is the crappness of my connection- its going through a 'drop ever five minutes' phase
While we wait
Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 18, 2002
Lol, yep there are pleanty of Listers about, and funnily enough the ladies are always attracted to them !
I'm more of a bxstxrs, but not a slob! lol
I think Cat was the best, he is just so darned cool!
I honestly couldn't tell you which series we missed. The last one though. It got hard to watch at 6 PM when my 2 year old son kept trying to stick stakes in me! And there's always a film on when they show it later at night so you miss it
Spike's character is excellent, as is Rupert Giles. Not sure about droolable, buffy is the only one I dribble at.
Saphire n steel was 1980's huh? well I missed that completely. I thought it was the same era as the avengers and the man from uncle.
What was it about?
Ahh bad connections wont help playing online Who you online with? You on a dial up modem or broadband?

Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 18, 2002
Hope you don't mind, but as I've njoyed chatting with you so much today, I've added you to my friends list.
Who could ask for a better friend than someone who appreciates Red Dwarf

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 18, 2002
Course I don't mind! Sorry for vanishing- work duties called, and then home.
We're on dial-up, although hopefully broadband in the new year!
I find Giles and Willow to be the best for drooling at, although Spike comes in there not far below
Sapphire and Steel was about, well, Sapphire and Steel. They were investigators, looking for time-breaks. In the series, Time is a thing, an enemy, that breaks through where lots of old things are together.
David McCallum (Illya in the man from UNCLE) played Steel, and Joanna Lumley played Sapphire. Other elements, like Silver and Lead pop up occassionally.
The series is weird, hard to describe. The second, fourth and sixth stories are the best (no titles, and nothing on screen to indicate when one story begins and the other ends).
I know someone who is just as bad as Lister slob wise, but is somewhat more intelligent

Hey, no probs about the disapearing act, that's the beaut of h2g2, there's no rush to reply to anything. 'Cept the RD quiz
How are you today? Well I hope.
I'm still on dial up at home, it's painfully slow for surfing, but surprisingly good for online games, do give one a whirl sometime. Heretic 2 has an online mode I think.
Erm, I'll try not to spill my bowl of cornflakes, but did you just admit that willow makes you drool? She is incredibly sexy isn't she, with those big innocent eyes. Does Bruce know you've got a thing for her?
I stil can't remember Sapphire and Steel, very worrying. Curious I compared it to the two shows it's actors came from eh?
While we wait
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 19, 2002
I'm fine today- only got to work 'till 1200, then it's off to the party
Don't spill your cornflakes, yes that is what I said, and yes, Bruce is well aware He's pleased, it means he can put girly posters up without me complaining, and he can pass comments on TV shows without getting a thump
Yes she *is* sexy- esp. with her new hair cut
Well, Sapphire and Steel didn't run for that long, I suppose, and got moved around in the schedules by ITV. It's just been released on DVD- if you fancy something a bit different, I can heartily recommend it!

A Half Day then a party. Hope you got your best frock on!
You planning to get falling down drunk and snog the most embarrassing person you can? Or just stand in the corner and watch everyone else make fools of themselves?
I'm in much admiration for your openness about liking ladies, I know my wife Clare feels much the same way as you, but I don't think she'd have the guts to admit it in a public forum like h2g2. Whoops I've just gone and done it for her lol. Oh well, I doubt anyone would wade through two pages of Red Dwarf chat to get this far.
I hope Bruce appreciates it as much as I do, makes for some brilliant fantasies we've found , and like you say, you can get away with perving at the lovliest beauties around, with no danger of a thumping.
It's quite unnerving sometimes when you walk down a street together and she nudges me to point out a particularly pretty girl lol.
Could be why I her to bits
I really did think she was unique! Then I find out there is another Red Dwarf loving, pratchett reading, computer game playing, bunny bi out there. You two weren't separated at birth or something were you?

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 19, 2002
No frock- tight black trousers and a purple shirt instead.
I'm planning on sitting at the bar making rude comments, and committing to memory everyone's foolishness. Then I'm going out somewhere else with the people at work I actually like, and getting blasted.
I've never hidden my liking for both sexes- I'm a pretty open person, about most things.
Bruce knows the only time he'll get into trouble for staring is if he doesn't point the object of his attentions out to me .
Seems there must be two of us- oh well, at least I'm still that rarest of fauna, a female Dr. Who fan, esp. one that isn't about eighteen stone
While we wait
Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 19, 2002
Lmao about the Dr Who / Weight thing, you aren't wrong.
Girls who are attracted to Sci-Fi are not normally the pretty ones. Yourself and Clare are the exceptions.
So how much do you weigh? More or less that 18 stone?
Your an open person eh? That's an invitation for all sorts of probing intimate questions
So, have you ever acted on your liking for women?
Sounds like a good plan for the xmas party, have a dring or seven for me will ya!
While we wait
Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 19, 2002
Less, you cheeky bxstxrd! I'm about ten stone.
Actually- the same goes for blokes- your average SF is no Adonis!
I've had girlfriends and boyfriends, yes.
I shall have many drinks- I'm sure I can spare you for you!
While we wait
Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 19, 2002
That's a nice weight. Clare is about 10 1/2. Having kids doesn't help a womans weight, but she's done an amazing job of getting it off.
She must have lost over 2 stone in the last 6 months!
The average Sci-Fi fan IS that bloke from the comic store in the Simpsons. lol. I'm no adonis myself, spend far too much time sitting on my bum and drinking beer, but I've always been a lanky git, so luckily I never seem to put on weight. Sure it will all catch up with me one day though.
Lol I wrote drings insread of drinks, glad you could decipher what I was saying.
If you get to playing any silly drinking games, a great forfeit is to order a baileys and lime, it looks totally gross! But actually tastes quite nice. Any girl who could swallow a glass of that will be popular with the lads

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 19, 2002
I've been heavier- the only reason I've lost weight is because I've lost muscle No climbing last year because of foot and mouth
There are two types of average SF fan- thin geeky student, and fat geeky mummy's boy. Hell, I swear I know the bloke comic book guy was based on
Baileys and lime that does not sound pleasant, but then, I tend to stick to whiskey and bitter on the drinking front, so who am I to judge.
While we wait
Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 19, 2002
I am glad you said heavier and not fatter. I really dislike women obcessed with weight, most men like girls to be volumptuous, curvy, and a plump bum is so much sexier than a bony one!
You seem totally comfortable with your weight, that's really heart warming to see
I'm a big Simpsons fan, find it hilarious. comic book guy is classic, he has some of the funniest one liners. He is the perfect sci-fi right down to the way he punctuates his speech.
Does Bruce share your passion for sci-fi? Clare and I find it scarey how much we have in common. We both used to read those fighting fantasy books, but were too ashamed to admit it toeach other when we first went out, we both thought it was far too geeky lol.
Being a soft southern pansy, I am only allowed to drink lager, which I do regularly in vast amounts
Speaking of which, lunchtime is here!
Have a great xmas do! Weill you be in tomorrow to tell me the juicey gossip?

Kerr_Avon - hunting stray apostrophes and gutting poorly parsed sentences Posted Dec 19, 2002
Lunch? At 1055? Is London an hour ahead and I never noticed
I've never been bothered about my weight- I bothered about being fit and strong enough to do my hobbies, but not about my weight.
I love the Simpsons too- Sky One means you can overdose- two hours in one go
Bruce likes SF, although not Doctor Who as much as I. He's in to modern US stuff, like Stargate and Star Trek. He likes Xena too, for obvious reasons
I used to those books! There was five of us that had huge collections- we used to swap them around.
Lager! Ick, foolish ban. Switch to bitter at once, I order you
I'll be about in the evening- I'm off work, but I'm meeting an old college friend in the afternoon.

Simon the Silly Sausage (Gone AWOL from h2g2) Posted Dec 19, 2002
Bah! Well 10.55 is my normal lunch hour. when you start at 7 AM, that feels like midday. Pubs are nice and quiet too
Unfrtunatly no beggar wants to go out today, all too hungover
Glad I got hootoo to keep me company.
I am glued to simpsons everynight on sky one My son Charlie loves it too. He does a great homer impression! 'Doh!'
Xena, now that's about the only Sci-Fi I don't like, far too corny. Her little mate is very tasty though. I always prefered blondes
Scantily clad women in leather with swords are always worth a look though.
Lol not another geeky fantasy book reading kid, we should start up a nerd gang or something.
Bitter is too cheap to be acceptablly palatable to drink! Only tight old men buy it down here. I don't mind it truth be told though.
I don't get online much in the evenings, far too much fun to be had with the kids instead, and then I'm too tired for anything but cuddling Clare.
I'm in her bad books at the moment too Got some making up to do tonight.

What have you done, you naughty Sausage?
Hmm, I suppose 10:55 is lunch time when you put it like that. I start at 8, lunch at 1230, so I guess so. Where they all been to get hungover?
I enjoy Xena- it's not mentally taxing, but its fun for the fight scenes- and the Xena/Gabrielle subtext
The cheapness of bitter is a nice side effect, in my book!
