New Year Wisdom.
Well another year, Christmas gone...New Year gone and again, NO SNOW.
However...Christmas was a good one.
All you people who read and write here, I do hope you had a smashing Christmas and your New Year...well, I do hope it brings all that many have wished you.
One of the best things to look for in life is love, friendship and happiness. This can be achieved by getting on well with others. Too many of us these days are happy to argue and shout at those who argue and shout at us. This doesn't work on the grounds that shouting and argueing only creates an atmosphere. So this year let us show others that by keeping our cool and not rising to the occassion that we can infact keep tempers at a low and the situation under control. We can make others respect us, want to know us and forgiveness floats on a cool head.
One of the biggest problems in this country is alcohol. It appears to have been made the number 1 social thing that one must partake of. This however is wrong. Alcohol leads to low tolerance within each persons bodies. Tempers fray ever so much easier and before you know it we are fighting with each other and in some cases causing injury to our fellow man. I have learnt that patience and tolerance towards others can result in respect and a situation possibility not arising.
So come on people, let us show are up and coming generation that socialising can exist without the excessive use of alcoholic beverages. Let us show each other that we can socialise as responsible adults without the need for alcohol to lead the occassion.
We as adults over the last 10 - 15 years have lead our younger generation into a bad habit. We have lead them to believe that the only way one can socialise is to go to a licenced premise and consume the war juice. We have taught them that you must drink to chat and laugh with others. We now need to show are younger generation that the ability to socialise without the war juice is quite easy and to partake of the war juice should be done in moderation if at all.
Lets make 2002 the year where the adult takes back the courage to act as an adult and not fear the mistakes that we have made.
I look around me and see 5 pubs on a housing estate all within walking distance of each other. 3 of those pubs have Police attendance all the time. The closest one has had 5 different landlords in a year and a half. When it is open, kids as young as 5 years old are running in and out of it up to midnight and in the summer as late as 2 in the morning. They create havoc and why? because their parents are in the pub all day, drinking. This is a bad example. This particular pub was closed down by the Police this year on both nights of December 30th & 31st. Both nights a large number of Police Officers where brought in to quell the storm. This should not be happening on our streets in front of the kids. It is the prime example of bad habit and example for our up and coming generation who need to know love and friendship.
TELL ME YOUR VIEWS ON THIS...I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
