"the cat whoo...". brilliant books for relaxing on vacation.

he is bit more complicated. he is from Japan and wrote lots of romans / novels about Japanse society and afterlife, but last thing he did was trying to get Americans to leave Japan. He disliked that Japan became too western. he tried get power in Japan by creating his army. he did not succed and commited ritual suicide (harikiri).

I've read most of the "The Cat who..." series.
Very enjoyable. The books feature retired newspaper
writer Jack Kwilleran and his two Siamese cats.
Braun started writing the books when her cat jumped
to his death from a highrise apartment window.
Distraught, she went to a psychiatrist, who advised
her to take up writing so she could get her mind
off the lost cat. Instead, she wrote *about* cats.
