Another day, another concert
Posted Apr 8, 2011
This time, a rather more informal one at a local church. We sang some of the chorales from the St Matthew Passion, and in the second half sang the Faure Requiem. I managed to do a Vip special and be asked to do the soprano solo, the Pie Jesu, at the last minute. Although I though my voice was a bit wavy, others said it sounded like silk so it worked out in the end.
Tired though. I've had to do too much concentration of late. Still, a weekend of re-organising the house ready to put back on the market should save me having to think too hard!

Disappointing.

For those that were following, it looks like our buyers have probably pulled out over the damp.
The costs they were estimated have gone from 1k (about the cost of the damp course) to about 7k (the cost of putting everything back the way it was afterwards). We can't afford that.
We are currently exploring the options of Mr Vip and I doing as much of the work as possible (stripping off plaster, taking out all the kitchen cupboards, etc.) but to be honest, I have a feeling they won't go for that. If they are counting these costs, it means they are paying professionals to come in and do this, so they won't be happy with DIY instead. No solution to that, as we can't pay for their DIY decisions.
And this, of course, means we've almost certainly lost our dream house.
A disappointing morning.

Pah.

Work, why send out a schedule of our observations if you then email me a week before my scheduled date and tell me it's tomorrow? You may just as well do it unannounced.
Admittedly, not being able to sleep until 1:30 this morning might be influencing my grumpiness, but the principle still stands.

Got it.

If you've watched the Big Bang Theory (which I highly recommend, by the way), you'll know how they go through the comics in the comic shop. A similar thing happens to me then I'm trying to pick Futurama episodes:
"Watched it.
Watched it.
Watched it.
Watched it.
Oooh.... watched it."
