I can't say much about festivities. I'm the one who went to the D-Day museum on my birthday.

It's going. We're about 2/3 of the way through this batch. Actually, this has been a difficult project from the beginning. smiley - erm

It's a series of decals for the bus fleet of Miami Dade County. The designer made a twisted train wreck of random squiggles, interspersed with a gridwork of squares. Had I been able to print it as is, this wouldn't have been much of a problem. However, it doesn't work quite so easily. The multitude of tiny, thin, sharp points needed to be thickened to allow for the decal material to adhere to the bus surface. I mean, little tiny pieces simply won't stick. There isn't enough adhesive surface. smiley - erm Then, additional color needed to be added precisely around the outer blobs to allow for slight misregistrations that might occur during the robotic CAD die-cutting process.

It only took me a week to sort out the mass of tangled lines and shapes on each of the ten pieces that make up these buses. smiley - yuk I wanted to strangle the sloppy designer several times!!! smiley - grr We'll be printing a couple hundred of this design, then I need to go back and start all over again for the next bus style ... straightening out another train wreck. AUGH!!! smiley - groan

Peeling away the excess vinyl on these massively long decals takes a lot of muscle too. The adhesive-backed vinyl is thick and tough since it's embedded with tiny glass spheres to make it reflective. I get a real workout!

I'm truly scared by how much of that I understood.

*hands you a big stick to deal with the designer*
