Keeper of a holy handgrenade? I do hope you keep the pin in also Before I rant on, let me introduce myself. I call myself Marjin, and I am an Ace, an Assistant Community Editor. We are a group of volunteers wo like to help people around in h2g2, and especially the new ones, as it can be very strange and maybe even frightening in the beginning. First of all, feel free to look around everywhere, just by following links. Most peoples personal spaces are very interesting, as they take a lot of effort to create something special, and it can be a good start to see what discussions may be interesting. Let me mention that you can find out about anybody by clicking on their nickname.
I am one of the more recent additions but I have kept quite busy.... irritating people, arguing, writing and just generally nosing around.
Welcome to a fascinating corner of the web and if you run across anything you don't understand, don't hesitate to ask anybody.

Oh, and when you find yourself in conversations, check for the dots to the right of the page. They yellow one indicates where you are in the conversation. If there is a pile of green dots and you are in the middle and you post a reply to a posting, your reply will fly down and be found at the bottom of the pile, answering something totally different!
A good indication of the age of a post is the date under the nickname. If it says 'three weeks ago', check to see where you are in the thread. If you hover your cursor over a dot, it will tell you the range of postings it encompasses. Then you can look on the upper right of the posting you're looking at and see what the posting number is.
