Beware?
Evangeline Posted Sep 20, 2003
Sally is a very lucky kitty to have found a good home. Adult injured don't usually get adopted.
Tortoise shell cats are really pretty.
This is my main photo page: http://photos.yahoo.com/evangeline_h2g2
There are different albums, all are public. One of the albums is just Xena.

The injury is not all that obvious. She just walks strangely sometimes.

Xena has learned how to open my armoire (wardrobe made of cedar), climb inside, pull the door shut and make herself quite cozy on top of my wool skirts. That is her favorite winter hiding place.
In the summer Xena likes to hide on the top shelf of the closet. She waits until we are relaxed and unsuspecting, then dives out of the closet to say "hello".

Ours seems to settle wherever there are people, often in somebody's lap. Apart from that, she usually has a spot somewhere that is coated with her moulted hair, although this spot changes periodically. For a long while, it was the bean bag in my sister's bedroom.

Xena likes to curl up on my(well, she says it's *hers*) buckwheat pillow. At the moment she is perched on top of a folding door, grooming. She loves being brushed, combed, or scratched.

I have no idea where Sally is right now, except down some 220 miles of roads in a generally southeasterly direction.

I thought I'd disappeared as well. I'd practically given up on getting back into h2g2 any time soon. A friend sent me a link to an h2g2 article today, though, and I thought I'd give it another try. Success!

It's not quite as simple as that. After the restructuring, I tried to get back in several times, including up to a couple of months later, and it didn't work. Whatever the problem was, it seems that it took a long time to fix it.

A lot of researchers had problems with the new system, especially six character passwords and secret answers. This time, I wrote my details down the night before the upgrade instead of trying to remember them later. That might seem a bit extreme, but I have more than one account(thanks to Rupert).

I basically kept my old username and password, although I had to remove a space to get it by this time. I'm sure that I'll remember it more easily once I've practiced a few times. I also have to 'enable cookies' to get onto h2g2 now, which may get tedious on the uni computers.

Evangeline Posted Jun 25, 2004
I had to change my usernames to something more anonymous, such as "my screen name_h2g2". I had to change the passwords too.
Have you had the "Must enable cookies" prompt even after enabling cookies error, yet?

I have to press the 'I think I have already enabled cookies' button every time, but after that it's worked so far.
