Hi I've just come across an un-edited entry on aspergers and your thread F2103850?thread=996410 I hope you don't mind that I read your posting. I am curious why you haven't had an official confirmation over this. I have recently seen my gp about getting tested.

There is an edited entry about aspergers.
The first two times I tried for a diagnosis, I was told the doctors needed evidence from my youth. Since that was before Aspergers was actually recognized, this is close to impossible. My mother, who has symptoms of her own, never noticed any difficulty. My teachers throughout my school years did but never referred me for anything. I knew there was something different about me but every time I tried to get counseling or treatment, I was told it was just my personality. Now I have no medical insurance. The U.S. has no national healthcare structure that would deal with such a thing and the State of Texas MHMR people don't know how to deal with adults. When my daughter was mistakenly diagnosed with ADD, the doctor told my wife that there were drugs available for me, also.
