You were pretty close because all the Frisias are connected. On the North Frisian Islands there are still people speaking Frisian.

I mention the area in various of my guide entries, but haven't actually written anything about Frisia.

My son quit the army after five (of his nine) months and is now doing communal service. He's very happy. He hated the army with a passion.

Well, she is faced with an economy that is overrun with high school graduates who cannot afford to go to college. Her mom spent years not paying any attention to what she needed for a future. In fact, her mom suggested she become a prison guard.

We don't have conscription here. So the military is run a bit differently.

I was talking to Shnooks this morning. She is having trouble learning German verb forms. She has spent years learning to try to read and shpeak Deutsch.

I think learning German must be very difficult. I'm just trying to teach a friend a little German, and only now realised just how complicated my language is.

What language does your friend normally speak?

My language awareness is limited.

I deal with Spanish-speaking individuals all the time.

Apparently some people have a facility for languages and others don't.

My friend's first language is English.
I don't usually notice it much any more, as I feel at home in both languages, but there are quite a few differences. Take the fact that we have three articles alone.

In English that would be 'The'. In German, it is Der (m), Die (f), Das (n)
