Hello Out There !!!!
Old Uncle Zarniwoop Started conversation Oct 28, 2001
Hello, how are you. I'm Old Uncle Zarniwoop, one of the other researchers. Welcome to H2G2. So now your here you'll be wanting to know what you can do !! I'm a H2G2 Guru ( I deal with technical problems, or problems with GuideML, the language we use here to create most of our imput) so feel free to ask me if you have any problems. Also, you'll probably get a post from an ACE who will also show you the ropes. (ACES officially greet new people)
First of all, you could change your researcher name to something more personal. To do this click on the icon at the side of the screen (or if you are in Alabaster mode at the top) labeled Preferences. There you can change your nickname and the style of the screen (I suggest Classic GOO).
Next you could go to WELCOME PAGE
http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Welcome
From there you can learn more about the site in general. Also click on my name at the top of the post and you'll go to my page. Go down and you'll find some links that might help you.
Welcome to the site. If you want to reply just click on the reply button at the bottom of the message
Cheers

Well, you seem to be getting the jist of it already.
Feel free to create any articles you want. You can write anything, as long as it doesn't contravine house rules.
Some people put tons of effort into their page, some just leave it bare. It took me six months to finally get round to making my page the way it is now.
You've even found out how to do smileys
